What you'll do
Unleash your creative juices to create something original and beautiful for yourself or as a unique gift for somebody special. The swipe pour technique used in this class uses metallics and a swiping motion to create stunning effects!
This Redbank Plains art class is perfect for beginners because pour painting (or fluid art) is such that if you do the technique right the result will always be interesting.
In this acrylic pouring workshop, your instructor Ron will show you how to select and mix your paints to create the right consistency for painting, and then guide you through all of the steps of the swipe paint pouring technique to create your own masterpiece on quality stretched canvas. The end result will always be unpredictable, so be prepared to have fun and see what pops out onto the canvas at the end.
All materials for the workshop will be provided, including paints, a canvas, gloves, an apron and any other materials that may be needed. Feel free to bring any drinks or snacks you might like to have.
By the end of the session, you will have a good idea of the process if you decide you'd like to have a go at it yourself at home. You might discover that you've found your new favourite hobby!
Please Note: Ron will also give you the option of having your painting varnished at an additional cost if you would like to get that done.
Knowledge required
No prior knowledge or skills are required. Just come prepared to have some fun.
What you'll get
You will get a completed pour painting on quality stretched canvas. Paintings need to be left at the venue to dry for about a week before they can be collected.
What to bring
You should wear clothes to the workshop that you don't mind getting paint on, though aprons are provided. No drinks or food are available, so please bring anything you think you may need.

My name is Ronald Hart. I am an artist and educator. I have been a teacher for more than 30 years. My current passion is acrylic pour painting. I love the freedom and unpredictable nature of this art form, and I enjoy playing with various techniques to create interesting pieces of abstract art. I also enjoy sharing what I do with others in the form of small group workshops. In my workshops I go through all of the basics that you need to know to create the paintings, and then I lead you through the steps to create your own amazing piece.
