4 days Experience size 1 to 8 guests

$2,250 - $2,675 ($2,250 for Wallum room single bed (tbc); $2,345 for Wallum room double bed 1 person (tbc); $2,450 for Single bed (twin share loft villa (tbc); $2,500 for Single bed (twin share room) villa (tbc); $2,675 for Double bed 1 person (own room) villa (tbc))

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jump on board a 4x4 adventure expedition to K'gari. Together with Khomani San elder Lydia Kruiper, Australian Aboriginal artist Rosemary Nabulwad and her family, as well as facilitator René Bahloo, you will spend 3 nights and four days exploring this unique and beautiful sand island. Local Indigenous elder Jan Williams of the Wonamutta clan will also join us on one day and will offer a traditional smoking ceremony to welcome our guests.
Our accommodation is the Kingfisher Bay Resort, a premier luxury resort on the western side of the island. There will be time to do some weaving and crafting together, though tuition will not be offered. There will be a wonderful opportunity to share intimate time and stories with our elders as we (and they) explore the incredible landscape, for the first time, as part of a tight crew in my troop carrier 4x4. There will be much fun and heartfelt connection, to be sure!
Note that this is a self-catered experience. Meals can, however, be purchased at the resort and/or at general stores we might come across on our travels. Prices are tiered according to accommodation type, and the ticket price includes the whole trip, return to/from Rainbow Beach/Inskip Point. Note that the journey is booked directly after our weekend weaving, healing, and crafting retreat, so if you are keen, this is an opportunity to tag the two together for a deeper experience, but act fast!
If you have a 4x4 and want to tag along with a few extra (of our booked) passengers, let me know, as I can discount your price. Act fast to secure this, as the offer is available only to the first in, best-dressed applicant.

Weavery is host to regular basket weaving circles, workshops and retreats on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Brisbane, and travels far and wide to contribute to externally hosted events.
Led by accomplished fibre artist, René Bahloo, Weavery approaches skill building from a holistic perspective, actively facilitating community connection, life skills and wellbeing through the active meditation of basket weaving.
