  • 5/5 from Sienna Taylor, attended May 2026: Myself and two friends booked Janine’s High Tea Treats cooking class as a 21st birthday present, and it was the most amazing way to spend an afternoon! We didn't stop laughing or learning for the whole three hours. Janine is a fantastic teacher. Even though we’re all somewhat experienced bakers, we still walked away with so many new tips and tricks up our sleeves. We cannot recommend this class enough! Truly had the most fun, and was an experience us three will remember for years to come.
  • 5/5 from Ruth Jonsson, attended Jan 2026: This was my second experience with Janeen, and she truly shines as an instructor. I participated in the High Tea Treats cooking class and was thrilled to complete all three new recipes despite being an experienced cook. Janeen offers clear instructions, excellent advice, a safe environment, and just a thoroughly enjoyable time. Her classes are intimate, allowing everyone to actively participate in each of the recipes and everything is made from scratch. For dishes requiring time, Janeen thoughtfully prepares one in advance, so there's no waiting around. All recipes and ingredients are provided, along with a container to bring your creations home. I highly recommend any class offered by the Accidental Caker!
  • 5/5 from Cathy Kozloff, attended Nov 2024: Had a great time. Janine was very knowledgeable. Want to sign up for more classes.
  • 5/5 from Patricia Alldridge, attended Jun 2024: I really enjoyed the class with Janine. The directions to get there were accurate. Janine was extremely organised with all the ingredients ready to go which allowed more time for preparation. The three cakes we made were yummy to eat and I took a beautiful array of treats home with me. Because of the limited time (two and a half hours), it was necessary to jump between recipes. This left me a little confused at the end about what had been done in each, but there is no alternative if you are to complete the three recipes in the two and a half hours. I can sort them out when I next bake from the recipes that Janine has emailed me
  • 5/5 from Lize Malherbe, attended Dec 2023: This was such a fun class! Janeen was so sweet and patient with us, and the treats we made were so yummy! Would absolutely reccomend this for anyone wanting to try their hand at fancy treat baking - it really is much more simple than you think once you know how to do it! Will definitely be making these goodies again, thank you so much Janeen!

My love of baking was formed at a very young age and some of my fondest memories as a child are when I was helping my Mother and Grandmother in the kitchen. Whilst I love all forms of cooking, baking is my favourite. I love to try new recipes and techniques and have developed some of my own recipes.
My decorating skills were not always as they are now but I always strived to improve. It was by accident, after a friend gifted me a decorating class almost 10 years ago, that I fell in love with cake decorating. Since then, I have sought out opportunities to improve my skills and have attended decorating classes with internationally renowned decorators.
A few of whom are:
  • By.Aletoso
  • Queen of Hearts Couture Cupcakes
  • Moreish Cakes
  • Don’t tell Charles
  • Bon Vivant Cakes
  • Astashkina Cakes and
  • Le Cordon Bleu
In my classes, most of which are aimed at beginner decorators, I aim to provide my participants with all the necessary information to take what they have learnt home to create beautifully decorated cakes and cupcakes.
So, if you’ve tried to decorate and just didn’t quite get the results you wanted, come along to a class, you’ll be pleased you did!
