In this casual class, you will learn how to utilise an indigo dye vat and Shibori techniques to create your own beautiful and unique patterned designs.

Class overview:

  • Learn how to create and maintain an indigo vat.
  • Learn different pattern making techniques; binding, folding, twisting and compressing.
  • We utilise folded, tied and clamped resist techniques in the workshop.
  • Dye natural fibre goods in an indigo vat.
  • All dye materials are provided along with a scarf or linen bag or linen teatowels.
  • Instruction will be given on creating a variety of patterns.
  • Refreshments are provided. Wear clothes appropriate for dyeing.

At the end of this laidback class, you will take home your own beautiful, dyed scarf and the skills to continue creating with fun Shibori techniques.
