Blueprints – Cyanotype Experience

nature + imagination + the sun = joy of alchemy

2 hours Class size 6 to 10 guests       $110 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Be captivated by the magical intersection of nature, your imagination, and cyanotype printmaking. We harness the shapes and textures of plants, bracketing in our sentimental connections to nature and create stunning blue and white prints of flowers and foliage.
We slow down and engage our senses, connecting with the wild, individual personalities of both the plants and ourselves. This is a relaxed workshop where you go your pace and engage in freestyle, creative expression while learning basic cyanotype principles and techniques. While immersed in the creative process we reflect on our blue prints as possible self portraits aka our blueprints.
Cyanotype is an environmentally friendly, alternative photographic printing technique. Monochrome Prussian blue prints (white where shielded from UV light) are created utilising light-sensitive solution and UV from sunlight.
Please note: this workshop is weather-dependent. If it's a rainy or a fully overcast day, it cannot go ahead due to insufficient UV.
This is a short, affordable, experiential workshop where basic knowledge and skills are demonstrated and then curiosity leads. I also facilitate 3-hour immersive advanced cyanotype workshops for those looking to extend their process and skills. Advanced workshops explore wet cyanotypes, additives, printing on fabrics, toning to achieve different coloured cyanotypes and using photographic transparencies. Twice a year, I host 5-hour immersive experiences in nature.
