What you'll do
Ready to level up your baking skills? This hands-on session will cover the basics of how to produce beautiful cakes in your home kitchen.
From easy throw-it-all-in mixes to more technical cakes, you will get the lowdown on achieving these with a minimum of fuss, plus we will make some beautiful buttercream to decorate our cakes with. Our cakes will be made in cupcake form so we can cover several techniques, which are applicable to any sized cakes, in one session.
This session will leave you inspired to break out the mixer to make the recipes for your family and friends. Plus, you’ll take home a selection of treats we’ve baked together!
What you will learn:
- Preparing and understanding ingredients and the use of equipment
- Mixing and creaming techniques, - How to make and bake a variety of cupcakes
- How to make a delightfully smooth buttercream, a glaze and Chantilly Cream

My love of baking was formed at a very young age and some of my fondest memories as a child are when I was helping my Mother and Grandmother in the kitchen. Whilst I love all forms of cooking, baking is my favourite. I love to try new recipes and techniques and have developed some of my own recipes.
My decorating skills were not always as they are now but I always strived to improve. It was by accident, after a friend gifted me a decorating class almost 10 years ago, that I fell in love with cake decorating. Since then, I have sought out opportunities to improve my skills and have attended decorating classes with internationally renowned decorators.
