How to make Christmas mosaics

What you'll do
"Piece On Earth" Christmas Mosaic Workshop will ensure that we are all of good cheer, creating lots of nice shiny things. You'll be a busy little elf mosaicing unique Christmas decorations for your home or garden, or personal gifts for your friends and loved ones.
This workshop runs on three consecutive weeks during November and December. The workshop fee includes all course-specific materials, but if there is something special or personal you'd like to integrate into your mosaic, please bring it to the workshops! Your own broken crockery, jewellery, beads and more can integrate well into a Christmas mosaic, giving it personal significance and context to the viewer or recipient.
Working in a social art studio environment whilst being artistically mentored by Gravelly Beach artist Susanna Mills, you'll meet new friends and be inspired by their art, while slipping gently under the soothing spell of this slow and methodical process of ancient, enduring creative expression. Same buzz as Christmas shopping, but without any of the guilt or stress!
Makeup classes are not available for workshops, which are one-off events. The weekly sessions, should be sufficient time for you to start and finish a small (25x25cm Christmas mosaic project). For new customers, once you have learned the basic skills during your workshop, allow yourself time to simply relax and enjoy mastering the process.
Bring a tub to practice cuts into and please wear full shoes, because we are breaking, cutting and working with sharp things.
Knowledge required
No prior experience of creating mosaics necessary, but it does help if you bring a rough sketch, or curate some digital references of Christmas mosaics that appeal to you. Things that you could mosaic include: a small hanging decoration OR a 25x25cm plaque OR a small 3-D shape OR a keepsake box OR a small flowerpot.
