Clay Date: Create Anything You Want
Join us for 2 hours full of crafty chat, inspiration, and fun as I assist you in making your own creative clay masterpiece.
This event is designed for those who have attended one of my ceramics events before and are wanting to make something different. You must either have attended an event before or have experience in clay to attend.
How it works:
  • You will get a ~500g block of white clay and the option to purchase more clay if needed!
  • You get full creative control over what you make (using either the pinch pot or slab roll method), and I'll be there to assist where I can.
  • I recommend making something using a method that you have done before.
  • You will have two options for the night; you can either:
  • Spend the entire time making your piece and choose a top glaze colour from test tiles, which I will glaze your piece with; or
  • Spend half the session making your piece and the second half painting with underglaze.
  • I will take your handmade beauty, and the ceramic fairies will finish your piece off for you (kiln firing and top glazing).
  • The piece will be fired and available for collection or shipping (for a small fee) approximately 4-6 weeks after the workshop, depending on kiln wait times.
  • It will be food safe, dishwasher friendly, and a magnificent addition to your handmade collection (or the start of one!).
  • All materials are provided; all you need to bring is yourself!
What you will get to go home with:
  • Your own handmade and hand-painted ceramic piece (after it has been fired)!
  • A night of stimulating conversation
  • New connections and friendships
  • A sense of belonging to a new community
Getting full creative control can be overwhelming, and when I say make whatever you want, you do need to be a tiny bit realistic about what will be achievable in the 2 hours! I recommend using a method that you have done before to make something different. Here are some ideas of pieces I can help you make:
  • Keep cup
  • Tea light holder
  • Mug with a handle
  • Trinket dish
  • Dog bowl
  • Small vase
If you have an idea, feel free to send it to me via email or Instagram, and we can chat through whether it's possible!
Please keep in mind that, like any craft, it takes lots of time and practice to get used to making ceramics, so keep your expectations low, and then you'll be pleasantly surprised! Ceramics for me is about the process of creating; the end piece is an extra bonus.
Some notes on the glazing:
  • If you choose option 2, we will be using underglaze to paint the ceramics.
  • Underglazes are designed for decorative painting only (not covering the entire piece in one colour), so challenge your creativity to come up with a pattern or design that you want to do!
  • I will have lots of inspiration and ideas for you to look through.
  • Underglazes will look different once they've worked their magic in the kiln, so test tiles are provided as your guide when choosing your colour palette.
Important things to note:
I do my absolute best to guide you through the steps of making the piece and taking care of them throughout the drying and firing process. It is extremely rare; however, there is a small chance that cracks may appear in your finished piece. The best way to avoid this is to listen to the steps carefully, make your piece with care, and spend time during the event smoothing over any cracks that appear and sponging down your piece well before glazing. How your piece looks when you finish making it is how it will dry and look after firing, so do your best to smooth it out and remove any cracks or bumps that you don't want in the final piece!
I use a kiln service to fire your pieces, as I don't have my own kiln just yet! This can mean that sometimes the pieces take a bit longer to be fired depending on wait times. Your piece is completely safe the entire time; it will simply just be waiting patiently in the queue. The usual wait time is 4-6 weeks; however, this can vary. You will be notified as soon as your piece is ready.
Absolutely everyone is welcome at Studio Eve; however, you must be 18 years or older to attend.

I started crafty hobbies as a way of finding out more about myself, fulfilling a need to try new things and the ultimate desire to find a passion that wasn't my unfulfilling corporate job. I absolutely fell in love with putting a good audiobook or show on, zoning out from the world and making things with my hands. I find it deeply therapeutic and want to share that with others so they can feel the same!
I decided to start hosting events because I deeply wanted to be a part of a creative community on the Sunshine Coast but struggled to find something that tickled my fancy. I also find that the coast is a hard place to make new friends and was searching for a place that would enable that. I took a belated gap year (at the ripe age of 26) and used my free headspace to dream up a vision for what I wanted. I decided to say f*ck it and that when I got home, I would start hosting the events that I wish were available for me.
My ultimate dream is to build a space where people feel comfortable to try new things and come to make new friends. I want to encourage people to find hobbies outside of work and unlock the creative side of their brain that we all have.
I fixate on a new craft every week and I want people to ideally be able to come to each event and try something new every time. So the type of events I do change, but my favorites are:
  • make your own ceramic mug
  • junk journaling
  • BYO craft nights
I have been making ceramics for 3 years now, so that is my main area of interest, but I like to keep the events different and ensure I'm feeling inspired by them too. I started hosting these events in January 2023 and have met the most amazing, creative people who are just so nice to talk to and share ideas with.
My main target audience is women in their 20s-30s, but of course anyone is welcome <3
