Cobbler was founded in early 2013 as a result of a deep love and passion for all things Whisky. At that time, it was the first one of its kind in Queensland.

In 2016 we won best Small bar of Australia at The Bartender Magazine Bar awards and in 2017 best Bar in Queensland. So, it's safe to say we are very proud of team an achievements!

Our ethos is to enjoy, share and educate, whether it be a whisky or cocktail, especially in a fun and responsible manner!

Brilliant class! Luke taught us how to make each cocktail before we hopped behind the bar and made them. We had about 20 minutes to drink each cocktail before the next one was taught to us. Lovely venue and excellent host thanks for a great afternoon! Exceeded expectations!

Fantastic class, so much fun. The teacher was great, informative and really hospitable, you could see how much he loved his job and his enthusiasm was contagious. Curtis was an excellent teacher, from educating us on different spirits to explaining each component of a drink. He also answered all our questions with his extensive knowledge.

The venue was perfectly intimate. Would definitely recommend this for a meet between a few close friends or as a date! We celebrated our anniversary with this cocktail class and could not have done better.

Our class with Mitch was great! Not only does the venue have amazing vibes, especially when it transforms from day to night, but the staff are incredibly friendly. My partner and I took this class together as part of our date night. We were initially a little worried about the timing that was given for the class of 4pm to 5:30pm, thinking we might feel rushed to make and drink four cocktails in an hour and a half. However, let your mind be at ease, we were not rushed at all and even encouraged to take our time to enjoy the drinks we had prepared. This made both of us feel far more relaxed and the experience was much more enjoyable when we knew we wouldn’t be pressured into a strict time limit.

Mitch was great at outlining how the class would go, first showing us all the tools we would be using and then explaining how the drinks would be tailored to our preferences of taste. We spoke about what we liked and disliked, and this gave Mitch everything he needed to know to whip up what he thought would be a great starting drink - which was amazing! From there, we got to actually go behind the bar each time and make each drink ourselves at the same time, which made it a fun little competition on who could pour and shake the best With each drink, Mitch gave a little overview of where it originated and why, what flavours we should expect, and why it tastes that way based on the ratios. Mitch was super knowledgeable and chill, and great at listening to what you desired to try next and thinking of the perfect drink for us to make. I would highly recommend giving the class a shot (yes, pun intended haha) if you’re thinking of something fun to do on a special evening.

Amazing class! Kurtis was great and very knowledgeable in his craft. We had an amazing time learning from him. Not only about how to make cocktails but also the history behind them, and of course drinking some really great cocktails. Last cocktail was tailored to our taste as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for something fun and casual to do. The atmosphere at Cobbler is warm and inviting with a vintage twist. Would definitely go back again

We loved this cocktail masterclass for my sisters hens party. Our teacher was friendly, informative and gave us a fantastic experience!
The venue had a lovely old school classy theme which we loved and even best was getting to go behind the bar and make them ourselves.
I would highly recommend this masterclass however would also suggest you look at asking for a table afterwards to sit at. There was a lot to get through even with just 5 of us, and would've loved to have known so we could sip our last two cocktails without feeling rushed.
Overall an amazing experience worth doing!

The instructor was very thorough in his in explanations, providing interesting background knowledge. He was also very accommodating and willing to change recipes to suit our tastes. Would definitely recommend to friends and looking forward to visiting the bar again on a different occasion.

The description of the class makes it seem as though you’ll be in a private area with an expert to guide you through a cocktail making experience (because you have to book the class to host’s availability). However, on the day, they didn’t know who was going to be taking our class (when we walked in we were told we would be with a gentleman, but when we walked over to him, he was like, umm no actually we’re going to get you with this young lady) and subsequently we were placed with a young trainee who was delivering their first ever cocktail class. She lacked confidence and had limited knowledge regarding the types of cocktails we could or should make. I understand that we all have to start somewhere, but it just didn’t seem like the time or place to have someone new to making cocktails, deliver a ‘cocktail masterclass’… There was no structure to the course and she only demonstrated one cocktail throughout the whole class, it was kind of awkward to be honest. The young girl was sweet but the class was not worth what I paid for and I don’t think I’ll be recommending this to anyone.

It was a great experience and the place is nice and intimate. We were very happy to go behind the bar and make our own cocktails. I really appreciate that when I didn’t like the whiskey cocktail, we made a different one for me so I could enjoy it. I loved that the teacher really thought about the cocktails for our taste, found something we can easily make at home and explained everything. Overall I really recommend it to everybody who loves cocktails.

Had a great time celebrating a friends birthday with the cocktail masterclass. The venue was fantastic and the instructor, Kate, was amazing. She listened to the types of drinks we liked and then lead us to make cocktails in line with our tastes (including making one up on the spot for our last one). Was a different experience being behind the bar to mix our drinks before sitting and enjoying them. The experience did not feel rushed at all and all the staff were amazing.

We had at class at 3:00 and showed up late at 3:20 which was completely our fault. We were just happy to be there and expected to finish at the original time at 4:30 but Jasper was so great and gave us the full experience and even went over the original finishing time, which were super super grateful for!

Josh was articulate and engaging, and had very personable skills towards clientele making the experience enjoyable and enlightening in the world of high end bartending. With great interpersonal skills Josh made us feel welcome and comfortable behind the bar. Josh clearly has great knowledge about the history and composition of a plethora of drinks and was quick to answer questions with a calming enthusiasm.

This venue is amazing, and the perfect place to be shown how to make an epic cocktail. All of the staff were very skilled at what they do and were super friendly. They were very accomodating, even making non-alcoholic cocktails for the non-drinkers, which tasted just as nice as the alcoholic cocktails.
All in all it was a great experience and would highly recommend.
