  • 5/5 from Candice Lam, attended Jul 2026: My children and I thoroughly enjoyed this soap making workshop! Miran was a wonderful teacher who made us feel welcome from the very beginning. A couple of days before the workshop, she sent through clear information about the location and parking, which was such a thoughtful touch and made arriving completely stress-free. The workshop was really well structured from start to finish. Miran took the time to explain the science behind cold process soap making, including the ingredients, how to calculate a soap formula, and, importantly, the safety considerations when working with lye. She had already prepared the more hazardous steps before we arrived, and the workshop space was well ventilated, so we could focus on learning and enjoying the creative process. The best part was designing our own soaps. We each chose our favourite fragrances and colours to create layered designs, and it really felt like making a piece of functional art. Miran was patient, encouraging and always nearby whenever anyone had a question or needed a little extra help. It takes about a week for the soap to cure before it's cut. And we can't wait to see how our creations turn out! Thank you, Miran, for such an enjoyable and educational experience.
  • 5/5 from Ann Mary Jacob, attended Apr 2026: Enjoyed the workshop. Really informative
  • 5/5 from Jennifer Lubke, attended Jan 2026: Miran was a lovely teacher! She was very friendly and helped me through each step of making the soap. The class was relaxing and enjoyable, and I love how my soap turned out! I had a great experience.

Hi, My name is Miran and I’m a Brisbane-based Design Soap Maker, and I’ve been crafting soaps for several years now.
With a background in Fashion Design from university, I’ve always loved creating with my hands ever since I was little.
While I work full-time in an office, I’ve always had side projects that fuel my passion, like my little Etsy shop where I made tutus for many years. But my true passion has always been about creating something meaningful and the products that are eco-friendly, sustainable, and plastic-free.
I love animals, natures and enjoy bushwalking with my two furry girls, Minto and Maple. I care deeply about the environment, and that passion naturally led me to the art of soap making but not just any soap.
Design Soap!
Every bar is inspired by the ancient art of soapmaking. The Babylonians were among the first to create soap over 4, 000 years ago, using natural oils and ash to cleanse and care for the skin.
At Babylon Soap, we carry on that timeless tradition using the cold process method, which closely mirrors those early techniques.
Each of my soaps is handcrafted using only plant-based oils and completely free of palm oil and synthetic surfactants, so they’re kind to both your skin and the environment. Every soap I make tells a story through its design. They’re not just soaps, they’re little pieces of sustainable art.
Since switching to handmade soap bars, I’ve cleared out almost all plastic bottles from my home. No more hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, facial cleanser, or dish liquid in plastic containers.
It’s amazing how much waste we can reduce with just one small change.
Whether you're seeking a moment of indulgence for yourself something beautiful, thoughtful, or better for the planet or searching for the perfect gift for a loved one, Babylon Soap has you covered.
