I started with a simple flower, Rhaya was mainly on her own as she is very good but got help when she needed it. However I thought the studio was too cold. I would have preferred it a little warmer for this time of year.

So I was excited to learn about her Creative Club which I hoped would help me sort out some problems I was encountering with colour mixing and paint application techniques. Today’s session didn’t disappoint. Melody is excellent at imparting her professional painting knowledge and she helped bring a couple of my amateurish paintings to life by showing me how to apply deeper tones to shadows and improve contrast in the highlights. She even showed how to achieve the representation of a little pool of translucent nectar at the base of a flower stamen. The studio space is light, airy and open, and there was plenty of time for one-on-one instruction. I’ll definitely be attending another session.
