The introduction encompassing types of laser and theory of operation, while interesting, went far too long. There was less time then for the fun (kinaesthetic learning stuff). I'm very keen to access further education and user support in this wonderful location and space.

However I did feel that the price of the workshop is extremely high for the content. It's basically a slideshow with him adding a few details to it, showing a few laser cut pieces he'd made, then spending a few minutes while he laser cuts a little one inch (or so) keychain with your name on it in a basic font. I think if it was $20 or less, I'd recommend. However I can't honestly say I do for the price.
• 3/5 from Milton Dhue, attended Jun 2024: The instructor was brilliant had a wealth of knowledge and was more than willing to share, The venue was not great it is literally a hole in the wall with no signage and no Disability access My advice would be to relocate ASAP, I would not consider the class as good value for money as it is too short I am a qualified trainer and assessor and from a professional view this course could easily run for 8 hours this is a course designed for student interaction with the instructor, the students are looking for information and are full of questions this is not achievable in 2 hours

• 5/5 from Anthony Bostock, attended May 2024: This class is a must if you are contemplating buying or will be getting in to working with a laser maybe starting a small business or just as a sideline in your retirement etc. Jaimyn our workshop instructor has actual working/ industry knowledge of lasers and he is a wealth of information. The venue is clean and very organized and has a very friendly atmosphere for learning all about lasers and offers other types workshops etc.

I would have liked a little more chance to experiment with the actual software, but in the context I understand it's all so hyper specific to material choice. Overall and excellent venue with a well-informed instructor who knew enough about the subject matter to adapt to everyone's specific interest.

Teacher was great, very informative and was able to answer all questions. Only improvement I’d suggest is it be more hands on and less theory based. Would have been nice to be able to use the laser cutting machine more throughout the workshop and have more then one type of machine. Overall a great afternoon and would recommend if you’re wanting to get into laser cutting or start your own business.

Good that he showed what the good machines can do but I dont think he thought about someone just doing/ starting as a hobby wants to spend lots $$$$. It may be good if one of the cheaper machines was there as that is where lots of people like my self would start. The practial side of things took 10mim at the end.

The shop is set up very well with everything ready to go at the touch of a button. If you need to do any 3d printing, laser cutting or build electronics then the makerspace is ideal.
