• 5/5 from Kristie Metcalfe, attended Mar 2026: We recently attended the Design, Carve and Block Printing workshop after I bought it as a gift for my sister, and it turned out to be such a great experience for both of us. My sister is quite crafty, but neither of us had tried anything like this before. The workshop was really easy to follow, and the steps were explained clearly, so we never felt out of our depth. It struck a good balance between being guided and still having the freedom to be creative. Nicole, the teacher, was friendly, approachable and clearly knew her stuff. She created a relaxed environment and was always happy to help or answer questions without making it feel overwhelming. We both had a genuinely good time, and we were so pleased with how our pieces turned out, they came out really cute and felt like something we’d actually use or gift. We’d definitely recommend this workshop, whether you’re already creative or just looking to try something a bit different.

She took us through the process step by step and made sure we were doing everything correctly. We printed some lovely placemats and a bag. Nicole also takes some workshops on Boro and Sashiko and seeing what was possible with those we are thinking of taking one of those classes as well. Highly recommend Nicole’s block print class.

Nicole was an involved teacher who shared her ample knowledge with us and made us feel comfortable. The class was perfect for beginners, covering the basics of block printing on paper and fabric. The materials were very well set out and great quality - especially the beautiful linen t-towels. The instruction was very clear and not over-whelming. I really liked how well she explained why we had to do things a certain way. My finished block print exceeded my expectation. It was exactly how I hoped it would turn out. I was very happy with the process and outcome. I would highly recommend this experience.

The teacher was patient, calm and very thoughtful, even providing a beautiful morning tea. The class was small and personal and I would recommend this class and look forward to participating in another class.
