Visit Old Kempton Distillery for this exclusive tour and tasting experience to celebrate Tasmanian whisky week. We make a variety of spirits on site using 100% Tasmanian ingredients.
This experience will start with a distillery tour where you'll learn a a short history on Dysart House (home to Old Kempton Distillery) and get an outline of the distillation process. You will then get the opportunity to go behind the scenes, allowing you a visit to our distillery and bond store. Our bond store is full of maturing Whisky and barrels of all different shapes and sizes. Ghost stories are all a part of the history of the house so keep your eyes peeled. Each tour is unique and an amazing opportunity to see how a distillery runs on a day to day basis.
You will also get to fill your very Old Kempton black steel flask with a very special muscat release, not available anywhere else, to take home! Your flask is 200mL and you'll be given the opportunity to write a personalised label to make it truly your own. This is a very special souvenir to take home and use over and over again.
Following your tour you can take a seat in our stunning Cask Lounge, located in the grand coaching inn that is the Old Kempton cellar door. Your tour will finish with a guided tasting of a variety four Old Kempton Distillery products.
Lunch is available daily, and highly recommended. Lunch options include---local Tasmanian produce antipasto platters, Devonshire tea and daily specials. Cocktails, coffee and other tastings are all available through our café which is open 10am - 4pm daily.
Finish your afternoon with a browse in our Cellar Door---full of all our Old Kempton Distillery products, spirits and souvenirs of your visit to Dysart House.
