Using dry pencils only, participants will explore the intricacy of layering and mixing to render a red rose with all its colour variations.
In this class, you will:
  • Be guided step by step to layer colours
  • Learn advanced techniques to depict a realistic rose using traditional coloured pencils
  • Explore the intricacy of colour mixing and layering to create lifelike textures and tones

  • Develop greater control, blending, and detail in your botanical drawings
Participants will be working with a small set of colours also used in the Introduction to Coloured Pencils class.

I was born in France and moved to Brisbane, joining the Botanical Art Society of Queensland in 2012.
A graphic designer by trade, my love for macro photography opened a new window into the botanical world. I specialises in coloured pencils focusing on close up details.
I exhibited with the society over numerous years and was part of the touring exhibition Artistic Endeavour, a contemporary response to the legacy of Banks, Solander and Parkinson in 2020.
I started teaching coloured pencils classes in 2019.
