Teacher Demonstration
Step 1: Introduction
Briefly introduce the reference photo.
Explain the importance of planning values (light, medium, dark).
Discuss the color palette and brushes you'll use.
Light Sketch
Draw the main horizon line and large shapes.
Keep the sketch simple with minimal pencil lines.
Students Painting Under Teacher's Instruction
Paint the Sky
Apply light washes from top to bottom.
Add distant hills, mountains, or trees.
Use lighter values and cooler colors to create depth.
Keep edges soft.
Step 6: Paint the Middle Ground (15–20 minutes)
Paint fields, water, or larger trees.
Introduce slightly darker values and warmer colors.
Add stronger colors and higher contrast.
Paint rocks, grasses, pathways, or flowers.
Use more texture and varied brushstrokes.
Add details like fences, boats, birds, or reflections where appropriate.
