Floristry classes on the Gold Coast

Taking a floristry short course can be a very eye-opening experience. Although it may appear simple on the outside, the intricacy and balance required to be a successful florist is an art form. Painting with flowers combines basic design theory with artisanal flair, and learning how to bring your own style to a bouquet is one of the cornerstones of a floral workshop. With so many things to do on the Gold Coast, flower arranging courses offer you a break from the sun and surf and allow you to not just get in touch with the natural beauty of floristry, but also get in touch with yourself.

Terrarium classes on the Gold Coast

Learning how to build your own terrarium is an exciting adventure, and our Gold Coast workshops can help you design and build DIY terrariums in a variety of styles and materials. There’s something particularly magical about terrariums. Building your own mini-ecosystem isn’t just rewarding and educational, but closed terrariums make for fantastic indoor plants, and can give a workspace a real touch of greenery and personality. Not only this but by learning the fundamentals of the plant’s environment, learning how to make a terrarium will also help you keep your other plants alive and thriving. With so many incredible things to do on the Gold Coast, terrarium building is perfect for adding that bit of inside flair to your work or living space.

Kokedama classes on the Gold Coast

Discovering how to make kokedama is one of our most unique craft classes on the Gold Coast. A time-honoured Japanese horticultural technique, kokedama plants are wrapped in moss and twine to give them a unique, spherical shape, allowing them to be perfectly contained within the plant ball. They make for perfect indoor and outdoor plants and traditionally use a succulent or small, low-maintenance plant. Making kokedama is also a fantastic way to unwind, as the process is exceptionally meditative, and offers you the opportunity to clear your mind and focus on the natural beauty of crafting a Japanese moss ball. Like many Japanese experiences and craft classes, there’s a strong emphasis on the individual connection to the exercise at hand, allowing a truly mindful experience. Kokedama workshops are ideal if you’re looking for things to do on the Gold Coast that are both highly creative and very relaxing.

Gardening classes on the Gold Coast

If you’re lucky enough to live in a house or flat with an outdoor green space, you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t learn how to garden! Getting elbow-deep in soil and keeping a variety of plants alive may seem a little daunting at first, but learning how to build a garden bed in one of our horticulture courses is an exciting experience that’s half-science, half-design! You’ll be shown how to look after succulents, how to grow herbs and vegetables and transform your own garden into a beacon of sustainable and healthy living.

Health benefits to flower and plants

Many flower arranging workshops and horticulture courses on the Gold Coast have more health benefits than you may initially think. Not only do they function as effective mindful movement meditation exercises that bring you closer to nature, but being engaged with your green thumbs can vastly improve your mental and physical health. M. Vaccae is a healthy bacteria that cultivates in soil and inhaling it has been found to reduce anxiety and boost your serotonin. Learning how to garden has also been found to increase your vitamin D levels and lower your blood pressure in the long term.
