We had an absolute ball doing this class and walking away with a funky basket that we made ourselves. Our teacher Bettina was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also friendly and funny.
Looking forward to more classes in the future with this venue/teacher.

A lovely artistic venue. Bettina was a very warm and supportive instructor and the class was small so we had lots of support. I went home and made two more baskets! It’s a lovely skill to have. Thank you

Hi Bettina, I loved this class, and can tick off all the above comments with 5⭐️
Also, Megan was so generous and patient with her time and talent.
Goes without saying, your space is unparalleled in its calm, creative atmosphere. I felt so inspired to return for future workshop/shopping experiences

I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make fabric coiled baskets. The skills that I learnt can be applied to a range of projects. It was great to discover a relaxing craft that will build my confidence with colour.

Elizabeth is a genuine, lovely person with a strong interest and skills in creative arts.
She guided us through traditional Easter egg dying from her cultural background experience and has perfected a simple yet effective way to teach and succeed at the outcome within the time frame of the class.
It offered a chance to be relaxed amidst our busy life!
The Forager’s Nest is a beautiful studio and this workshop was great value for money as all materials are provided. My adult daughter and I enjoyed the afternoon being creative with the group.
Foragers Nest has a large Gift Shop supplying local handmade crafts.

We met Elzabeth Gunko who took this class. A lovely Ukrainian girl with lots of talent. She spoke to us about the traditions of egg painting and then we set about doing one of our own. It is a great way to spend a few hours, outlining the pattern, applying the wax, dyeing your egg and finally revealing the pattern and the colours. Just a beautiful contemplative way to create something stunning. Mine was not as good perhaps as Elize's but I took my egg home over joyed with my efforts. Marina

Loved the lino cut workshop with Megan today at foragers! I learnt so much, and it was very relaxing carving out my lino picture.

The actual space itself is amazing, loads of inspiring and beautiful things to see/ buy, and Bettina the owner is a super warm and friendly host!

Thanks for the great day I’ll be back.

Bettina was wonderfully qualified to introduce me to the art of coiling fabric baskets. She was helpful and personal. I enjoyed our conversations. Can’t wait to do another of her workshops. Great value for money. The shop is just amazing with over 60 local artists work. I know where I’ll be doing my gift shopping. Thank you!

I really enjoyed Betina's teaching style. A well structured class so participants can leave with a small basket or more than enough materials to finish the project at home. A fun environment, the workshop taking place instore at Foragers Nest so the inspiration and eclectic artisan obects on sale surrounding the work area was the perfect place to be.

Bettina is a fabulous and very knowledgeable teacher. The studio and the provided materials were amazing. She explained and modelled the twining and weaving process very well and I thoroughly enjoyed this 3 hour workshop. I am thrilled with my gorgeous looking basket and cannot recommend this class enough. I will definitely go again. Five stars from me.

This workshop was fabulous. Elizabeth, the art teacher was experienced, patient, and an excellent teacher. It is very good value for money with all materials and afternoon tea supplied. I am hopeless at drawing and have never painted, but left with a fully framed art work that looked similar to this one pictured. I took my granddaughter, and we both loved it, especially doing it together. The class would make a wonderful Christmas present, given as a gift voucher. Highly recommended for all ages from early teens to 80 year olds.

Thoroughly enjoyed the random weave workshop with Bettina at Foragers Nest. Bettina is very knowledgeable, professional, warm and helpful. The workshop space is really nice, it's part of the gallery space but kind of fenced off by shelving. There's a toilet and kitchenette close by. The natural fibres were really interesting to work with and learn about. We got hands on almost straight away with Bettina talking us through the history, the fibres and how they behave etc. We loved the jam drops with morning tea too.

What a great workshop! The art studio where the workshop was held is a really welcoming and calming place with lots of creations to look at and be inspired by. I loved the way that the facilitator showed me how to do the coiled basket instead of just telling me, it was a really easy way to learn and follow along. And I had no idea that making a basket out of rags would be so easy and satisfying! The tea and biscuits provided were also really nice, and I don't like all workshops but I'm so glad I went along to this one.

I loved this workshop. It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours with new friends on a Sunday morning. I started the base of my fabric scrap basket and over the past couple of weeks have enjoyed spending an hour or so most evenings adding to the basket. It's destined as a special gift for a friend's birthday in October. Bettina was a great facilitator, with patience and sharing of tips. And the space is a beautiful gallery of talented local artisans and makers.

I was attracted to this class to recycle some of the bags full of old materials that I have in my cupboards in a creative way. I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Bettina is a competent and inspiring teacher. She explained the process of fabric basket making clearly and gave me lots of ideas for future projects. The venue at Forager's Nest Art is easy to find and easy parking at the front door or the side streets. The gallery is full of beautifully crafted work by local artists and worthy of a good look . It was a wonderfully, relaxing way to spend a Saturday morning. I will definitely be looking into one of the workshops on offer at Forager's Nest.

Tina was absolutely amazing in teaching this beginner random weave class. I have never weaved before but I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and walked away with a new potential hobby.
Tina was mindful and caring about the weaving practice and how we as humans could utilise natural resources by foraging correctly, which was a wonderful perspective to learn. The weaving experience itself was therapeutic and very much enjoyable.

Elizabeth Wilson May 2023

Good length of workshop, achieved what we needed and time to practice enough to gain some techniques and ask for help with issues as they arose. All of the supplies were easy to use and access. Our lovely teacher was very attentive and hands on helping, chatty and provided constructive feedback. The space was beautiful with great light, warm and comfortable. We were offered cups of tea and opportunities to stretch and stand. I now have a lovely bowl Thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you.

My daughter Lucy and I really enjoyed this class. Bettina is a very friendly and patient teacher, and she was able to explain the required techniques in a way we could easily understand and apply. We learnt the entire process of making a woven coil basket from start to finish, and we were both delighted with the finished products we took home. Bettina had lots of baskets on hand in a variety of colours, stitches and media that really highlighted the versatility of this craft and gave us lots of inspiration for future projects. Lucy is already working on a new project as I type this review! Forager's Nest is a delightful co-operative art space with lots of beautiful and creative things to admire and purchase. The excellent tea and shortbread for morning tea was an added bonus. Highly recommended!

Bettina's class was great value! I learned loads and left feeling that I could not only make a coiled basket but could apply the technique to other forms, and utilise other media. The venue is such a lively and creative space! I should have done more work and less exploring all the inspiring art around the art space. Looking forward to booking another class with Bettina at this workshop.
