Painting is a wonderful and satisfying creative outlet. For some, it can be therapeutic, and for me, as a mum, it’s time out! In this rewarding and relaxing painting class, you'll learn the ins and outs of refreshing furniture with a creative touch. Delve into the basics of painting furniture and create your masterpiece to take home.
  • Discover how to prep surfaces and master brush techniques
  • Learn the art of achieving that stylish distressed look using Fusion Mineral Paint
Get ready for a few hours of fun and creativity where you can unwind and tap into your artistic side. Don't worry if you're new to painting - this workshop is designed for beginners like yourself.
By the end of the session, you'll not only have your own revamped furniture piece (dependent on the size of the piece) but also the know-how to continue upcycling projects independently at home. Come with your tired or dated piece of furniture and leave with a newfound skill and a beautiful work of art.
Places in the class are limited, so be quick to secure your spot!
What you'll get
All painting materials are supplied, as well as a delicious morning tea of tea/coffee and a banana bread or muffin.

What to bring
Bring along a small wooden item you would like to update. This could be a stool, a tray, a couple of frames, a small table or chair, a drawer front, a terracotta plant pot (obviously not wooden but can also be painted), a wooden box or even an old jewellery box. Basically anything you can fit in your car easily and carry yourself.
Please note there are stairs at the venue so you will need to be able to carry the item upstairs.
Please send a picture of the piece you wish to paint for me to check it will work for the workshop.

You don’t have to be an expert to update your own furniture. All you need is some quality paint, a good brush and some good advice. In my workshops, I will teach you upcycling techniques that will enable you to transform a piece of tired furniture: from trash to treasure!
Being creative - combining art through colour, design and creative thinking - with interesting yet discarded pieces of furniture, has been food for my soul. In a former life (pre-kids), I was a principal dancer with The Birmingham Royal Ballet, and lead dancer with the Australian Ballet. Being immersed in ballet’s theatrically creative environment inspired my ‘look’ and prompted my desire to further pursue my interest in design with the Interior Design Institute of London.
What I bring to you in my upcycling workshops, are years of creativity and upcycling experience through my business: Ballerina with a Paintbrush. I specialise in all projects which paint can bring alive; from furniture to even kitchen makeovers! My workshops will give you the knowledge and tools to begin your own upcycling addiction.
