What you'll do
Join Maker's Corner in Gympie to learn the skills and tools required to design and make your very own sterling silver ring and a pair of earrings.
During this six hour class, you’ll get hands-on experience learning techniques such as sawing, soldering, filing, texturing and polishing. You’ll learn how to make hooks and jump rings so that you can customise your jewellery and create works unique to you.
This is a perfect beginner class and no previous experience is necessary.
You will learn:
- The most essential bench tools you need to begin making jewellery
- How to use templates and/or make them
- Cutting metals
- Types of findings that we will use, how to make the simple ones and how to use them
- Methods of adding texture and details
- Basic construction skills
- Soldering your joins
- Finishing like a pro
- Time allowing, we will give you a run-down on simple tool maintenance
By the end of this class, you'll able to take home your unique jewellery to cherish for years to come!
