Lean into strong shapes and colours

Lean Into Strong Shapes and Colours

You will learn how to use strong colours and simple shapes to paint a magpie with personality, with confidence, and let go of overthinking.

Bring it all together

Bring It All Together

I will show you how everything comes together, and the simple final touches you can add to leave with a finished piece you can feel proud of.

In this workshop, you'll move from a blank plywood canvas to a finished magpie painting with clear, supportive guidance every step of the way.
You will learn how to transfer your image onto the plywood and how to load your paintbrush to achieve crisp edges and a smooth texture, making that first mark without hesitation. You will build your painting with strong colours and simple shapes, letting go of overthinking and gaining confidence in your creative choices, discovering how enjoyable and freeing the process of painting can be.
By the end of the class, you will be able to take home your very own magpie painting to add some Aussie character to your space.
The only thing intimidating here is the magpie's stare.

female Women-owned

Hi, I'm Cassie, founder of Cobradah Studio (pronounced Cob-rah-dah), a creative space built on the belief that art can support wellbeing and self-expression.
I discovered the true impact of creativity during Covid, when I turned to painting and DIY crafts to help manage my mental health. What started as a way to stay calm and grounded became something much bigger, leading me to study Creative Therapy and Play Therapy, and eventually launch Cobradah Studio in 2023.
I now run art workshops designed to help people relax, build confidence, and move past the fear of a blank canvas. My teaching style is simple, supportive, and beginner friendly, because I believe everyone is creative, they just need the right starting point.
I love seeing that moment when it clicks. When someone goes from "I can't do this" to feeling genuinely proud of what they've created.
Before this, I co-ran an art-based business stocked in boutiques around Australia and operated a retail store for two years, so I bring both creative and real-world experience into everything I do.
With a background in Interior Design, Graphic Design, Creative Therapy and Play Therapy, my goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can slow down, reconnect, and create something uniquely yours.
