Owner and head teacher, Karina is immensely passionate about creating moments of disconnection to the outside world in order to connect within. As a yoga and meditation teacher, she also brings elements of this into her teaching with clay, inviting in relaxation, stress relief and creativity.
Karina fell in love with clay over three years ago when she attended a hand-building class as a date-night activity with her partner. After completing a three month internship under a master pottery in Sheldon, Brisbane, Karina's even more enthusiastic to sharing this craft with the world.

It was great to attend the pottery workshop with my daughter. The instructions were clear and easy to follow yet the finished pottery seems to be of high quality. The freedom of what we can create with the clay as well as the variety of the tools were bonus. We look forward to painting our pottery.

The experience at Mud 2 Mug was great! the pottery supplied were varied and a variety were hand crafted by other students! Our teacher Karina was excellent and other staff were kind in getting us the paints and instructing us on how to proceed. The only negative part is the shared space which had lots of loud kids, but other than that everything was fantastic! Thank you!

Highly recommend this class, it was so much fun. Karina is a fantastic and very knowledgeable teacher. I went along with my sister, the class was a birthday present surprise for her and she absolutely loved it. We cannot wait to go back and finish our pieces off and see the end result.

I bought this experience for my sister-in-laws 60th birthday. We shared it with my niece and daughter so it was a lovely mother daughter time as well. The teacher was lovely and it was easy to follow her step by step approach. We all had a laugh during the class at our creations and the whole experience was great. The venue at the cream house cafe was great as after the class we stayed for lunch.

I have just completed my first week, of a six week beginner pottery throwing class. It was the best, I absolutely loved it and can't wait for the future weeks to happen, whilst also never wanting it to end. The venue, class size and teaching is great, making it excellent value for money. It has left me very hungry for more!

This workshop is my fav yet! Karina is a wonderful teacher, works accessibly and moves at your pace.
I made mistakes and I had triumphs. Nothing can describe the feeling of playing with the clay, letting it speak to you and letting it move.
At the end of the 6 weeks I was given 1.5kg and I was able to create a yarn bowl for and a large cooky bowl

A very friendly teacher and supportive environment - great for first timers like us! We got to make several items each, and while we were disappointed to learn that a mug with a handle can only be made in the advanced course, it was still great to make some pots and handleless mugs. A wonderful morning out :)

Karina was amazing. From the moment we arrived at Cream Cafe where she greeted us and explained the pieces we could chose from to the final moment when we left and she explained the next steps and when she would contact us.
There was a large variety of ceramic’s for my 14 year old daughter and I to choose from. We paid at the cafe counter and ventured down the back of the cafe to the studio.
Karina provided pencils for us to sketch our design onto the piece and explained the painting process to us.
Karina also had a plate painted with all the available colours so we could see what our design would look like afterwards. This was very helpful.
The paints were high grade and all the tools were provided.
This class was great value.
You can also order food from the cafe to be delivered to the studio which makes for a yummy and relaxing experience.
I can’t wait to go again.

The teacher was good at explaining.
What l liked the most was how the clay can sometimes give it own shape and the possibility of corrections.
Something l was surprised is that l thought we are going to also learn how the dirt can be trasnsormed into clay.
To emprove, may be take a few minutes to also explain ways to form the clay. Have a bit more water to clean hands after the workshop. Thank you for your service.

A big thank you great morning moulding clay. My six year old grandson loved using the pinch pot method to create his cave. Our Teacher Andra was very helpful and any tools we needed was quick to supply them and offer any advice on how to best create what we were trying to achieve. I found the clay good to work with and surprisingly not very messy. Time went quickly and my little grandson was well absorbed for a good 2/3 of the class. Looking forward to coming back to paint our creations. Thanks again for a fab morning. Janice

This is a wonderful personalised class with an amazing, patient teacher. She steps you through and is very encouraging to everyone. Very helpful along the way and produce some amazing pieces. I did it with my sister and mum and we had a great time with some laughs along the way. Highly recommend

The class was everything I hoped it'd be for a fun, relaxing, educational and fulfilling activity for me and my partner. Karina is a such a friendly, welcoming, and warm host and is exceptional at providing guidance to us beginners. The class was such a a great time, we made 3-4 pieces each and are very excited to return to paint them once they're oven fired. Highly recommend this class/workshop for a good time with wheel pottery!

Karina at Mud2Mug in Sunnybank was awesome My girls 10 and 9 did a creative pottery class and absolutely loved it. Karina worked with my girls to help them create their own little masterpiece. The room was beautiful and spacious. Conveniently located in a playcafe which accommodated the younger two at the same time. Definitely booking again for my girls to build on what they learnt today. Then they come back in 3wks to paint which is all covered in the cost of the class, so excellent value for money. Thank you

My friend and I did the Wheel Throwing Class for Beginners at Mud2Mug and MORE. We were nervous before the class because neither of us had ever done wheel throwing before. But the nerves didn't last long as we had an amazing teacher, Karina, who was incredibly kind, patient, and great at breaking down each step. This was a fantastic experience that I couldn't recommend enough

Great experience. Would highly recommend, the studio is located inside the cafe with painting glaze and pottery mugs available to paint anytime while in the cafe. Pottery pieces are worth it for the piece. It covers the initial clay making, the bisque fire, the underglaze, and even the second fire. Which I found real nice because you only pay once whereas a lot of other studios make you pay multiple little fees that really really rack up.
The painting session was very useful and fun. Karina was amazing and helps a lot with colour selection and arranging tools, paints (I'm still sorry for cutting that poor sponge)
Would definitely come back biggest downside is definitely the carpark. Spots are not available during evenings because it's filled with restaurants and a Domino's pizza. Some dude literally forgot his handbrake and it rolled down the hilled carpark and ran into another guy's car.

My boys had a great time making their creations! They were given a lot of freedom and encouragement by the teacher who was lovely and patient. They're excited to go back and paint their pieces once they're ready. Added bonus was that I was able to relax inside the cafe while the class was on. Will definitely book again in the future!

Such a fun class! I bought this ticket for my Mum as an early Christmas present and we both had such a beautiful time. We're so excited to see our pieces finished! We also get to come back and glaze our pieces (included in the price!), which will make our pieces look even more beautiful! :)

I was happy with the finished product but I felt that we were given very little guidance with no real instructions given. It appeared that the teacher was not familiar with the studio at all and therefore didn't know where to find extra resources that were needed. The teacher appeared very distracted by trying to find Christmas music to play on her phone thus forgetting the assistance that she was in the middle of giving us. At one point the teacher seemed to be making her own decorations. Both the owner of the studio and the teacher were lovely ladies but I found the whole experience quite different to any other Class Bento class.

Karina was absolutely lovely and super encouraging. I struggle as a visual learner a lot when things are just explained audibly, but with Karina's class it works for all learning types. She explains and shows how to do something, then you follow with that step as well. Both my partner and I had a wonderful time and would love to go back again. We're really happy with how our pieces turned out considering it was our first time. Thank you Karina!

The class was intimate with just four students to one teacher. Our teacher, Rose, was great at demonstrating what to do and then helping each of us as needed - she made the whole experience really fun! Pottery studio is in an excellent location inside Cream House Cafe so had lunch and a coffee after class

The kids did the creative pottery class when my sister and I did the wheel throwing class next door. The girls had lots of fun making jewellery holders and they can't wait to go back and paint to finish off the project!

Awesome experience, you could tell our teacher loved what he does and was really knowledgeable. We all left with 3-4 pieces and had a fun time. Price includes firing and we can go back and paint the before the final glaze if we want to!

We booked spontaneously on a trip to Brisbane from Sydney. I’d done wheel work previously but my partner was a first timer.
From the moment we arrived our teacher made us feel at ease and comfortable. We had the BEST time!
If you’re curious about doing pottery, I can’t recommend mud 2 mug highly enough. If we lived in Brisbane we’d be signing up to the full course because we had such a great experience.
Thanks again for such a wonderful time If we’re in Brissy again, we’ll definitely be back.
Do yourself a favour, and go book a class. I can guarantee you won’t regret it :-)

I cannot recommend this class enough. This was the beginning to a girls' day. The class size was perfect (max. 4). Our teacher was attentive, patient, and very approachable making the class flow really well.
We were all beginners and made 4 pieces from the two-hour class. Knowing that we could come back to paint them at a later date (without making a booking) was another plus.

Great class, good variety of material, lovely teacher. Only thing I would say: 2 hours altogether would make it less rushed towards the end.
