I am a distinguished martial artist and founder of Bujinkan Jissen Dojos, with locations in Brisbane, Redcliffe, and the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Holding the esteemed title of DaiShihan, I have dedicated over 35 years to the study and instruction of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, a comprehensive martial art encompassing the traditional disciplines of both samurai and ninja warriors.The Bujinkan system, under the guidance of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi, integrates nine traditional Japanese schools (ryuha), three of which focus on ninjutsu, emphasizing stealth, adaptability, and unconventional tactics. The remaining six schools concentrate on bujutsu, the martial techniques practiced by samurai, including armed combat, battlefield strategies, and unarmed defense. My teachings at Jissen Dojos blend these ancient practices with modern self-defense strategies, ensuring students are equipped to handle contemporary threats while honoring historical traditions. Beyond my martial arts expertise, my background includes service as a soldier, federal agent, and private security contractor, with deployments across the Asia-Pacific region and Afghanistan. This extensive real-world experience enriches my instruction, providing students with practical insights into personal safety and situational awareness. My commitment to the community is evident through initiatives like offering free self-defense classes for women in response to rising sexual assaults in Brisbane.
