Would you like to have the experience of being able to paint an incredibly beautiful, loose, poppy on your own canvas? Even those with no previous experience or knowledge of watercolour painting will be able to learn colour mixing with vibration...
In this half-day workshop you will learn how to draw up your poppy onto a large canvas, by identifying simple shape patterns from your supplied poppy photo. You will be shown how to create the wrinkles that are the personality of each of the petals, by using clingfilm. And you will learn to create textures and details of the centre of your poppy by using coloured oil pastels.
You will see your poppy evolve before your eyes as you drop different coloured inks into wet shapes that create the overall poppy shape.
Our tutor, Dianne Kelly is a Brisbane born-and-based professional watercolour artist.
Di has fulfilled her dream of writing her first book, The Art of Watering Colour. Over the years, Di has had several of her paintings published as limited edition prints, as well as producing several ranges of gift cards featuring watercolour images from her overseas travels.
Di’s works hang in collections around Australia and overseas and are currently being incorporated into her new range of fabrics, wallpapers and swimwear.
