What you'll do
Draw it, ink it and paint it with watercolours! Ink and watercolour is a fantastic medium for painting your pet, and with this beginner-friendly paint and sip class, you'll be surprised to discover how much fun and how rewarding watercolour painting can be!
You will feel proud to walk away at the end of the class with your very own painting of your beloved pet.
You will:
- Learn about art materials for watercolour
- Practice some simple watercolour techniques
- Discover how to draw your pet in pencil on watercolour paper
- Use your newly acquired skills to paint your pet
- Add ink to your paintings
Gather your friends for a fun and rewarding few hours of painting and sipping, whether you're after unique birthday party ideas, hens party ideas or even casual team building activities.
At the end of the class you'll take home some A5 watercolour preparatory paintings, your A4 watercolour painting of your pet as well as the skills and confidence to continue exploring this relaxing medium.
Please bring an A4 printout of your pet in black and white to use as a reference. Photos with a lot of contrast work best, that is they have black blacks and white whites. Photos with your pet's mouth closed will be much simpler to draw and paint. Choose a photo where your pet fills most of the frame and please have the same photo on your phone in colour.
Your teacher has transformed their home into one large studio for classes. It is airy, spacious, full of light and arty as hell. It's a space to get arty and party. Bring a drink, bring some nibbles, bring your friends.
Watercolour means that you can dress up, free from the worry of ruining your clothing! Let's have some fun painting your beloved pooch, puss or parrot... lizard or snail... chicken or hamster.
Knowledge required
Beginners welcome. It would be an advantage to have tried our ink and watercolour basics class before trying this one, however that is not at all a prerequisite.
What you'll get
- Use of materials including brushes, pens, paints, and A5 and A4 watercolour paper.
- Use of my range of reference photos, drawings and paintings.
- You will take home some A5 and A4 watercolour paintings along with your preparatory paintings and practice sketches.
What to bring
- Something to drink and nibble.
- An A4 reference photo printed out of your pet. This can be black and white or colour however you will find that black and white works best for our purposes. I recommend you choose a photo with your pets mouth closed. Tongues and teeth = so much more detail to draw and paint.
- A colour version of the same photo either printed or on your phone.
- A fully charged phone.
Suitable for
This class is great for a birthday or hens party.
Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).
An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.
