Paint and Sip
Immerse yourself in a unique and transformative paint and sip class in Brisbane led by Tour de Tea and artist Clare McFadden.
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn the art of tea tasting while exploring the world of colour mixing and still-life painting using acrylics on rag paper. Step inside a calm and elegant space, where tea takes centre stage alongside a lesson in fine art.
Guiding you through the world of tea is Hannah Little, a Brisbane Tea Specialist. With over a decade of industry expertise and passion, she will deliver tea tasting with a series of micro-lectures throughout the evening – introducing you to an array of beautiful teas, discussing their nuances and helping you build your palette.
Alongside Hannah is Clare McFadden, an accomplished artist, author, and illustrator. Under Clare’s guidance, you will discover select artistic techniques which ensure you can leave the workshop with a new set of skills and appreciation.
Not to mention, by attending this workshop, you can help give back to your local community. We aim to provide enrichment and dignity to those who may not have easy access to such experiences.
Through Tour de Tea’s commitment as a social enterprise, funds from every workshop are donated to provide a free workshop experience for someone in a marginalised community. The ethos behind creating Paint and Sip: The Art of Teatotalling was to, first and foremost, foster a harmonious blend of creativity and compassion – improving quality of life in aged-care homes, women’s shelters, prisons, and youth centres.
Note: Corporate Workshops and Team Building sessions are available - please contact Tour de Tea directly.

New Farm’s own loose-leaf tea boutique Tour de Tea is run by sisters Amy and Hannah.
Tour de Tea has been a fixture of the Brisbane tea scene since 2009, originally selling to tea lovers at Brisbane’s Farmers’ markets.
Amy and Hannah offer over two decades of combined industry experience, with Amy’s tea journey beginning in Melbourne and being further explored in Paris, and Hannah’s beginning in Queensland, with sojourns in Sri Lanka and highlands of Malaysia. Together, they wistfully dreamed of creating a perfect sanctuary for tea lovers in Brisbane; a place where tea can be explored, and people can be educated and introduced to the very special world of fine tea.
In 2018 the stars aligned and Tour de Tea’s retail space in New Farm opened its doors, welcoming tea lovers of all kinds to stop by and be reminded of tea’s place in today’s society. Dedicated to improving sustainability in the tea industry, Tour de Tea was the first tea store to offer zero waste options for customers and reusable tasting cups.
Since opening, Hannah and Amy have been passionate about fostering Brisbane’s growing tea culture, collaborating with Tea Masters, public workshops, cafes and restaurants, with the agenda to build strong foundations for tea appreciation and improve Australian tea culture.
As Tour de Tea grows, Amy and Hannah are working the business as a social enterprise. Always considering how they can run things to best benefit the community and the planet.
