We had a fantastic time.
Keith is an excellent teacher, expertly guiding us throughout the whole process.
We felt sure that he was there to assist us, but also allowed us to find our own comfort level in our abilities.
We would definitely recommend the experience to anyone with an interest in how beautiful glass is created and we're definitely keen to do another class.

This is such a must do experience if you are visiting Tasmania! Keith is an amazing teacher and was great at guiding us as much as we needed. The pieces you create are more than many other classes I had looked at previously and this was a really fun experience that we would recommend to anyone!

Keith was a fabulous teacher! The class was well put together and taught in such a way that each item we made was within our reach as beginners.
Keith was at our side the whole time and provided individualised instruction as we created our glass. He made us feel comfortable while working with the molten glass and we couldn’t be happier with what we managed to create.
We would highly recommend the class and we absolutely go back again!

Keith was just brilliant, he was patient and made me feel confident. I can’t believe I got to make 5 pieces, I can’t wait to pick them up tomorrow. It was an incredible experience, even better than I imagined. I will definitely book again. Thanks so much Keith.

WOW, what an experience!

My family kindly gifted me this class as a birthday present. I went along knowing very little of what this class would involve and what I could achieve. I never expected that within an hour of arriving, I would have the tools in my hands and be starting to work with molten glass under the guidance of my teacher.

Keith has a very calming nature and explains all the processes well. His experience and commitment to his craft is obvious as he’s encouraging and supportive through every step. The projects that you complete all have a purpose, helping you to learn and reinforce the fundamental skills and techniques used in glass blowing.

My family were able to watch and photograph me work and even participated by twisting and manipulating the coloured glass through my paper weight. I loved the fact that I was able to keep what I had created, it’s such a beautiful way to remember and reflect on such a unique experience. Thank you Keith

Excellent course and great value for money. The teacher, Keith, was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable, yet down-to-Earth, and took the time to explain things to us in as much (or as little) detail as we wanted. He was also very patient with us, and we never felt rushed. Everything we needed for the experience was provided. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I did a full day glassblowing course for beginners at Poatina. Keith, the teacher was great. He went through all the safety items before giving an outline of what we would be learning and attempting to complete. We had already been told the type of clothing to wear before arriving (non synthetic clothing and enclosed footwear) and when we arrived we were provided with safety glasses to wear.

Keith was very encouraging and patient taking each of us at our own pace and assisting us. Even when things didn't work quite as we wanted he pointed out that the same can happen to very experienced glassblowers.

It was a very full day learning skills on a practice piece then making a paperweight before lunch. After lunch when we were feeling more fresh we started the first of the blown pieces. We had the opportunity to complete up to 3 pieces each.

The skills learnt and number of pieces we made represented great value.

My wife and I had a terrific experience learning how to work with solid glass and try glass blowing. Keith was very informative and relaxed, yet professional. He assisted us throughout the entire process and let us take the reins when our confidence grew. We value this unique experience and would highly recommend to others who appreciate the art of hot working glass. If you are wishing for a memorable one-on-one experience, this is the place to go!

Really great experience. The teacher was great at explaining everything and guiding us through the whole process. He was there every step of the way ensuring that we ended up with a piece of glass that we could be proud of in our home. Great value for money, beautiful location. Was an awesome afternoon and we now have a greater appreciation of how hard glass working is. Highly recommend!

Keith is such a patient, kind and easygoing teacher that not only made us feel welcome but helped us overcome our initial fear of handling molten glass at 1150°C. The learning process was individualised for each participant and we could participate as much or little as we felt comfortable with. This was the most challenging yet rewarding art project I have had the pleasure to create to date; Our small group of 4 like minded friends agreed. We decided we feel brave enough now to return to learn more techniques and immerse ourselves in the moment once again. Absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone curious about glass art and take the time to have a meal in the Tea Room in the village, a must do!

We had an amazing time at the beginners glass blowing workshop in Poatina. Keith was a brilliant teacher - personable, patient and generous with his time. A true master!

The venue was in a huge old hanger style building, located just outside of Poatina - a relic of Tassie’s hydro electric heyday. Fully equipped studio space and all of the materials were provided for. We made some fun objects to take home - including a colourful drinking vessel and paper weight.

Great value for money and an all round super cool thing to do - whether you're a Tassie local or visiting from abroad. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with our experience! Ten out of ten.

Keith had a calm demeanour which was very helpful when the pressure was on! He was able to adjust his supports to accommodate us. The three items we made were an excellent progression in skill learning, so nothing ever felt "too hard" and we each have three beautiful creations to show for our afternoon!
It was well paced and very enjoyable!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Keith was an excellent teacher; friendly, calm, professional, and a great mix of hands on and hands off support throughout the class. The venue, equipment and materials were all neatly laid out and the lesson was organised and proceeded without incident (which is a plus when handling molten glass!) I’d highly recommend this class to anyone… I walked in with burning curiosity and walked away with an even deeper curiosity and appreciation for the skill, dedication and artistry of glass blowing… as well as a beautiful new whisky glass, a colourful paperweight and somewhat wonky caterpillar all made by me… what a joy! Thanks Keith.
