About Me
I’m Rebecca, a sea glass and stained glass artist based on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula. My work is shaped by the ocean, light and the quiet magic of transformation.
I began working with sea glass after moving to the coast, spending long walks collecting glass fragments shaped by time, tide and chance. What started as a calming ritual slowly became a creative practice. I studied stained glass techniques and began experimenting with ways to honour the organic, imperfect beauty of sea glass rather than forcing it into rigid forms. That moment, realising I could combine traditional stained glass with found, ocean-worn materials, changed everything. It became both my artistic language and my passion.
Teaching is a natural extension of my practice. I love creating calm, welcoming spaces where people can slow down, work with their hands and surprise themselves with what they’re capable of. Underneath that calm is a strong sense of play. I believe creativity opens most naturally when we feel curious, relaxed and free to experiment. Many of my students arrive saying “I’m not creative” and leave holding something they never imagined they could make. Watching that shift is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Something many people don’t realise is that no two pieces of sea glass behave the same way. Each fragment has its own thickness, curves and history, which means every artwork and every student’s piece is completely unique. I teach my own gentle, adaptable approach to working with sea glass, encouraging exploration and problem-solving so people feel supported rather than restricted by rules.
I’ve been working as a professional artist and educator for several years and have taught hundreds of students through workshops, private group bookings, community programs and events. I regularly run workshops across the Bellarine and Greater Geelong region and teach ongoing art classes, including programs for older adults and beginners. I’ve also delivered creative workshops in gallery and retreat settings, as well as small private groups.
I hold formal qualifications in art and design, including an Advanced Diploma in Product Design & Innovation and I bring a strong focus on safety, process and clear instruction to every class. My work has been exhibited in galleries, featured in curated exhibitions and supported through arts funding, including receiving a Clever & Creative Seed Grant from the City of Greater Geelong.
Above all, my workshops are about connection. To materials, to creativity and to yourself. They’re designed to feel spacious, playful and nourishing. You don’t need prior experience, just curiosity and a willingness to explore. I’ll guide you every step of the way.
I’d love to welcome you into one of my classes and share the joy of working with sea glass and light ????
“I loved the way Rebecca lets the sea glass provide the inspiration, offering gentle guidance and positive suggestions rather than rigid rules. Her explanations were clear and she gave generous one-on-one support throughout the workshop. I was thrilled with what I created.”
