Hi, we're Jose and Fallon, the founders of Salsa Fever.Salsa Caleña isn't a hobby we picked up, it's where we come from. We started Salsa Fever in Colombia in 2020, and in 2025 we brought it with us to Brisbane, along with everything that makes Cali the salsa capital of the world. Between us we have over 10 years of dancing and more than 6 years of teaching, and we still get the same buzz every time a room full of nervous beginners turns into a room full of dancers.We teach the real Cali style: fast, joyful, footwork-driven salsa, the kind you see on the streets of Colombia. Not a watered-down version, the genuine thing, taught by people who grew up in it. We've had the honour of performing on some of the biggest stages in the salsa world, including Colombia's legendary Salsódromo and the World Salsa Festival in Cali, and our work has been featured on Telemundo and Caracol TV.Here in Australia we've shared this dance with over 400 students in person and hundreds more online, and we've been trusted to bring Colombian energy to organisations like Metro South Health, OrangeSky and Griffin State School.But honestly, the reason we do this goes deeper than the steps. For us, salsa is how we share Latin culture with Brisbane, and we've seen first-hand how much good it does for people's mental health and wellbeing.
