I was working on the process of applying ink into the marks I had drawn and scratched into a plastic etching plate prepared for printing and also exploring chine - colle ideas using recycled gelli prints. Lots of fun and concentration. I've come away with many good tips. It's always good to listen and watch other print makers work through their processes too.

I was working on a couple of etchings and I wanted to use the press for printing. What I like best about attending these days is not only having access to materials and tools but everyone is very respectful and encouraging of each other's practice.

The rusting and indigo options were fantastic - we had the freedom to experiment and play to our heart’s content, while also making progress on our own projects. The combination of the two-day and one-day sessions worked really well, and the class size was ideal. It was especially convenient to be able to leave our materials at the studio for the duration.

It has been lots of fun experimenting with dyes using paper and materials. I have enjoyed the good company, yummy lunches and of course learning something new! A great way to spend time being creative.

Her Urban Wilderness Art Studio is very well set up and is wheelchair accessible too. Everywhere you look you are inspired by Sandra’s amazing art work. All of the fellow students are also very friendly and helpful too. Thank you for a wonderful day of gelli printing. I always enjoy it. Today I was working on an old linocut that I had carved and never printed, using a press. Thank you Sandra and others for helping me set the press to the right tightness. I also printed a solar plate that I started at the end of last year. Great to see my results even the ones that didn't work. This helps me to understand ways I can problem solve for next time. I feel enthused and ready to continue work on new processes for 2026! Urban Art Studios has excellent facilities and is a great space to work and create!
