Social Art Day

Our regular Social Art Days are your opportunity to come along and work on your latest Paper Art project in the company of like-minded artists.These sessions are a great motivational opportunity to resolve some UFOs (unfinished objects) that may be on your to-do list. You can also ask for feedback and advice from other artists in the group.You can work on anything you like – it could be practising your sketching, playing with watercolours, gelli printing, printmaking, collage, making books etc.NOTE: This isn't a workshop or tutored class. There is no teaching component to the day, so you must be skilled enough to be able to work on your project unaided, however its likely someone in the group can offer advice or support with any art-related questions you might have.If you have printmaking experience, you can access our printmaking equipment including the etching presses. No tuition is provided and to use the major equipment you must have had a studio induction.The cost of the sessions depends on your needs:

• BYO Project - You bring your own tools and supplies
• Print - BYO inks – You supply your own papers, plates, disposable gloves, and inks.
• Print - use Studio inks and consumables – You supply your own papers and plates, but you can use our inks. We have Akua soy-based inks and Caligo Safe-Wash Oil based ink. We supply consumables like gloves, paper towel, detergents etc.

If you don’t have any printmaking paper, you can purchase some at the studio, please bring cash.Every Social Art Day session runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm, but you can come and go as you like to suit your day. Morning tea - coffee, tea, cold water, and something yummy to nibble on. Read more details
