Textile Collage and Embroidery Weekend Workshop

Come along to this weekend retreat workshop held on beautiful Macleay Island with renowned artist, author and tutor Jennifer Clouston.

You will create a stunning textile art piece using techniques like textile collage and embroidery stitching. Learn how to select a beautiful colour scheme and an aesthetic design based on natural foliage.

Jennifer has a modern approach to traditional embroidery and she will teach you a great variety of new stitching techniques that you can use with ribbons, threads and textiles as well as beads and sequins.

With years of experience, Jennifer is well-known for designing new and original stitches by taking traditional embroidery and giving it a modern twist. She will teach you a freehand approach to stitching.

Your weekend workshop will be hosted by Colour Stream's Studio on Macleay Island. Colour Streams will also provide you with all of the beautiful hand-dyed textiles, ribbons and threads that you will use in creating your textile art.

Jennifer's workshop is suitable for all skill levels and you can expect to be inspired by her expertise and ideas and learn with people who share a creative flare and are open to learning new crafts.

Come alone or with your friends to enjoy this weekend retreat on beautiful Macleay Island just off Brisbane in beautiful Moreton Bay. Jenny's retreats are alway super popular and we promise you fun, learning, fabulous food and great memories!

Please note:

• Does not include accomodation on beautiful Macleay Island. Colour Streams can make suggestions for accommodation if you would like.
• You may commute to the island from Redland’s Bay Marina daily.
• We can arrange to pick you up and drop you off daily from Macleay Island Marina.

This weekend workshop retreat is great for people who like creativity, textile art, slow stitching, fun and learning with like minded textile, stitching and embroidery artists. No previous stitching experience required - suitable for beginners.
 

• To make a textile art panel from scratch using textile collage and embroidery stitching
• Delicious home-made food (Two dinners, two lunches, two breakfasts and morning and afternoon tea on both days), plus drinks from Friday dinner to Sunday afternoon tea.

Jennifer Clouston Play Pack provided that contains Colour Stream's fabrics/threads/ribbons/sequins in colours of your choice:

• One foundation fabric and specialty fabrics to cover your foundation fabric
• Five felt leaf shapes
• Five petal shapes
• Three 4mm silk ribbon
• Two 7mm silk ribbon
• Four Rana skeins
• One texture
• Two packets of seed beads
• Three packets of sequins
• Two packets of embroidery needles

If you have any favourite stitching tools (i.e scissors, needles, etc) or favourite threads you can bring those (but not necessary).
 

After the first session, the next session is: Saturday 27th May, 8:10am-6:30pm and Sunday 28th May 8:30am-4:15pm
