Use variety of embroidery stitches to enhance your design
- A selection of curated fabric scraps, thread, and base materials
- All materials to complete your piece
- Needles, threads, and stitching tools (for use during the workshop)
- Paint a soft, misty background onto cloth
- Layer scraps and offcuts into a small still life
- Use simple hand stitches: running stitch, seed stitch, and French knots
- Finish your hanging with fabric loops and a twig

Hi, I’m Alison, a creative workshop facilitator with over 30 years of experience in the craft and creative industries.Throughout my career I’ve worked across many creative mediums including textiles, slow stitching, mixed media, paper craft and decorative crafts for the home. I have run a craft business for many years and have taught numerous workshops and creative gatherings for people wanting to explore their creativity in a relaxed and supportive environment.Teaching is the part of my work I love most. Seeing someone discover a new skill, gain confidence, and leave with something they are proud of is incredibly rewarding.My workshops focus on accessible, beginner-friendly projects that allow participants to explore creativity without pressure. I am especially passionate about slower, mindful crafts such as slow stitching, paper flowers and small decorative art pieces that encourage people to pause, focus and enjoy the creative process.Students often tell me they appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of my workshops and how inspiring it is to create alongside others.
