Sigil Magic: Create a Personal Intention Talisman

2 hours

Class size 1 to 20 (public classes), 12 to 40
$85 (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Metal talismans and charms have been used by cultures all over the world for thousands of years, for decoration, personal adornment, protection, and veneration of the lands and gods. Talismans were often carried in a pouch, sewn into clothing, or displayed in the home.

These talismans were charmed with personal energies and unique symbols to seal in the magic of the specific intentions, to attract all manner of things including health, wealth, good luck, and love. There are also some amazing examples of curse tablets on display at the Hellenic Museum here in Melbourne!

In this two-hour class, you will be guided on different ways to create your own magic-infused sigils for specific intentions, as well as exploring a range of techniques to create your own personalised tin talismans using easily accessible materials. We will then decorate the talismans using bells, beads, charms, ribbons, and other goodies that call to you.

Please note: This class requires at least 5 students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.

Mystic Makers Club

Mystic Makers Club

Mystic Makers Club was built on the premise that we need to nourish and encourage the creativity and magic inside us all, by using a hands-on approach to reconnect with the mystical and spiritual aspects of our lives. We encourage silliness, mess and experimentation in our sessions, because witchcraft and creativity really doesn’t have to be so serious all of the time!

Run by artist Emma Sjaan Beukers, Mystic Makers Club offers an inclusive and accessible way to explore your creativity and magic, without the requirement to commodify or capitalise on your creations. It’s a space where you can be yourself, create with community and come together in the magic of using your hands to craft something unique.
