This workshop is designed for beginners and anyone wanting a clearer, more confident understanding of fermentation and gut health, without complicated rules or overwhelm.
In this workshop, you'll learn:
  • What the gut microbiome is and why it’s essential for digestion, immunity, skin health, mood and overall wellbeing
  • Why fermented foods are one of the most powerful tools for gut healing
  • The fundamentals of fermentation, explained simply and clearly
  • How to safely and confidently introduce fermented foods into daily life
You’ll experience:
  • Step-by-step, hands-on sauerkraut making
  • Live demonstrations of other delicious, simple ferments
  • Tasting a variety of ferments
  • Practical tips you can actually use at home
  • A relaxed space to ask questions and learn without pressure.
No prior experience is needed. All ingredients and equipment are provided.
This workshop isn’t about perfection or following strict rules. It’s about building confidence, reconnecting with real food and learning simple practices that support long-term gut health for you and your family.

Do I need any prior experience with fermentation?
Not at all. This workshop is designed for beginners. Everything is explained step-by-step in clear, simple language, and you’ll be guided through the process hands-on.
What do I need to bring?
All ingredients and equipment are provided, including jars, chopping boards, knives, and bowls. If you prefer to wear an apron, you’re welcome to bring one.
What will I be making?
You’ll make your own jar of sauerkraut to take home. There will also be demonstrations of other simple ferments such as beet kvass and ginger carrots, so you can see what’s possible beyond just one recipe.

Will we be tasting fermented foods?
Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to taste a variety of fermented foods during the session so you can become familiar with flavour, texture, and how to introduce them at home.
