If you love perusing the shelves, selecting a spine that speaks to you, settling in and cracking open an unread book, this workshop is for you. You’ll spend this session learning to sew an A5 book to encase your favourite written work, guided by the talented Michelle Lackenby of Paperazzi Design Studio. Michelle will cover the importance of paper direction and grain, essential bookbinding tools and where to find them, and a comprehensive method and technique to create your very own hardcover, soft spine book. Case or edition-bound books are ideal for journals or notebooks and make great handmade gifts for the wordsmiths in your life. There will be plenty of decorative papers, ribbons and covers to customise your creation. This workshop for absolute beginners includes all materials and notes, and direct access to Michelle’s mind for seasoned papery guidance.
