5/5 from Susan Oliver, attended Sep 2024: I had the pleasure of attending Deep Earth Ceramics' ‘Tiny Houses’ pottery class, and it was a delightful experience. Sally’s warmth and encouragement makes everyone feel at ease, no matter your skill level. Her passion for ceramics is contagious, and she created an environment that was really informative but also filled with so much joy. The process of crafting our own little ceramic house was so fulfilling. Each moment - whether hand building, decorating or under glazing - was a peaceful escape from the everyday. If you’re looking for a course that combines creativity, relaxation, and a lovely community, I can’t recommend Deep Earth Ceramics enough.
With over 30 years of pottery experience, a formal education in Art & Design, and a major in Studio Ceramics, I’ve traversed many creative paths, but clay has always been my true passion. My journey has included hunting, digging, studying, and mastering new skills, with pottery teaching me the virtues of patience and the beauty of imperfection. From my studio in Fremantle, Western Australia, I create unique pieces that embody emotional authenticity, prioritizing essential beauty over conventional perfection. I am deeply passionate about sharing my love of making through teaching. I aim to provide an authentic experience where students feel comfortable exploring their own creativity. My workshops and private classes cater to all skill levels, inviting you to discover and express yourself in the captivating world of pottery.
