Would you like to learn how to sew? This is the workshop for you!
In this 3 hour workshop, you'll make friends with a sewing machine and learn how to wind a bobbin and thread it properly. Then you'll make a simple cushion cover with an envelope back opening and snap fasteners. You'll be covering your sofa with new cushions in no time!
This project comes with printed instructions and a paper pattern you can take home to make many more cushion covers at home.
We're looking forward to starting you on your sewing journey!
What you'll get
You will get to use a sewing machine and all sewing tools required to complete the project, and take home your very own cushion cover. All haberdashery items like thread and snap fasteners will be provided, as well as fabric for your cushion cover.

Knowledge required
No previous sewing skills are required. This is a course for complete beginners.
What to bring
Just bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided.
Location

Kalamunda Community Centre, Crescent Road, Kalamunda WA

Classes are held at the beautiful, modern, Kalamunda Community Centre, set amongst the trees of Jorgensen Park. It is a 10-minute walk or short drive down Mundaring Weir Road from the Kalamunda townsite. There is plenty of parking including accessible parking located near the side entry doors.

Learn to sew with Suzie London at Bits ‘n’ Bobbins Sewing School in Kalamunda in the Perth Hills.
Suzie was born in The Netherlands but moved to Perth with her family aged nine. She was selected for the Special Art Programme at Kalamunda Senior High School, and went on to study Graphic Design and Multimedia at TAFE in Northbridge.
Suzie decided to move to London when she was 20, and it was there that she learnt to sew, at the London College of Fashion. She has since taught sewing at Sew Over It in London, as well as in the haberdashery department of John Lewis department store on Oxford St, London.
Suzie moved back to Perth at the end of 2019, and works as a freelance illustrator for sewing and craft books, including official Great British Sewing Bee titles, as well as creating her own fabric designs and products under the name Suzie London.
