Recent reviews of Wheel Throwing Class

  • 4/5 from Ellie Brownlow, attended Oct 2026: I did this class with my bestie for her 30th. We loved experiencing wheel throwing for the first time and had the perfect amount of assistance to help us grow in confidence without any pressure - great guide from the teacher. We loved that we could have as many turns as we liked at making a piece, espcially as we saw significant improvement from our first pieces to our last. It would be even better if we had the opportunity to engrave our intials or a number on our piece as well as pick the glaze colour as there were other glazes there that we would've preferred over the one we got. Would recommend this class.
  • 3/5 from Jude Tracey, attended Oct 2026: Teacher was friendly, but it was all too rushed. First off the step by step instructions took time and thus ate into the two hours. Then after this it was hard to remember each step as we started on the wheel throwing. For me, there wasn't enough time to really feel relaxed about what I was doing. I felt pressured to produce something. It would be good to have the steps displayed so I didnt have to keep asking the teacher on what I had to do next. The gift card I used hadn't expired, but was close to the 3 year expiry date. The voucher covered 3 people to do the wheel throwing course which was 2hrs. I ended up having to pay an extra amount to cover the 3 people which was disappointing. I took that up with ClassBento who the voucher was purchased through and they said I had to take that up with the business provider. The Art Department couldn't honor it as there had been price rises in that time since the voucher was purchased. I thought this shouldn't be the case. I personally feel it was an experience that was way too overpriced for what you received and I won't be rushing off for any similar experience in the near future.

  • 5/5 from Jacqueline Sterling, attended Jul 2026: It was for my husband's birthday and we had a great morning. Our teacher, Molly was excellent with great instruction and demonstration, then guidance whilst we did our best. Molly helped with advice along the way and by the end we'd made a few items without needing so much help. It was relaxed in the class and we had plenty of time. At the finish we were both pleased with our efforts and cant wait to see how then turn out once glazed and fired.

  • 5/5 from Aeysha Luitingh, attended Mar 2026: recently attended a clay throwing pottery class, and it was such a wonderful experience! The instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and really made the process approachable, whether you were a complete beginner or had some experience. The hands-on guidance helped me understand the techniques of centering, shaping, and creating consistent forms on the wheel. The studio itself was welcoming and well-equipped, with plenty of space to work and all the tools you could need. I loved getting messy with the clay and seeing my ideas take shape on the wheel — it was both relaxing and incredibly satisfying. By the end of the session, I had made pieces I’m proud of, and the sense of accomplishment was amazing. This class is perfect for anyone looking to try something creative, de-stress, and explore the art of pottery. Highly recommend!
