Melinda is a linguistic watercolour artist and the founder of Word Minx. By pairing the mechanical precision of vintage typewriters with the reckless fluidity of watercolour, Melinda weaves evocative words, poetry, lyrics, and quotes into bespoke, miniature pieces of art. Through her distinct style, she both creates original work and teaches others to explore this tactile, creative medium.Based in Coolum Beach, Melinda made the deliberate decision in 2026 to leave the fast-paced corporate world of marketing communications behind, seeking to slow down and embrace a more grounded pace.Through Word Minx, Melinda hosts intimate, interactive workshops in South East Queensland including Walk & Watercolour, Type, Sip & Paint, Type, Paint & Sew, and Breath Words. These sessions are designed to help participants slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the tactile joy of creating something permanent, beautiful and unique to themselves.Melinda is the Word Minx and will show you that your favourite word isn’t just a sound - it’s a masterpiece waiting to be seen.
