Already attended one of our workshops and ready to take your jewellery-making skills further?
Sometimes, you don't need another full class. You just need someone beside you to guide you, troubleshoot challenges, offer feedback, and help you move forward with confidence.
Our personalised mentoring sessions at jaf.elias are designed for returning students and makers who want continued support as they develop their skills, refine their techniques, or work through a particular project.
Whether you're still building confidence, experimenting with new techniques, or looking for more advanced guidance, we'll meet you where you are and tailor the session to your individual goals.
Who Is This Session For?
  • Beginners who want to build confidence and reinforce what they've learned.
  • Returning students who want to practise, refine techniques, or continue a previous project.
  • Professional jewellers and makers seeking technical feedback, creative direction, or advanced guidance.
  • NDIS participants who benefit from structured, supported studio time tailored to their needs.
What You Can Get Support With
  • Lost-wax casting and wax modelling.
  • Basic to advanced soldering techniques.
  • Design development and creative problem-solving.
  • Stone-setting guidance.
  • Metal finishing and polishing.
  • Troubleshooting technical challenges.
  • Refining existing pieces and improving fabrication techniques.
  • Creative direction and developing your individual design approach.
Each session is adapted to your experience, learning style, pace, and goals. Rather than following a fixed lesson plan, we'll focus on what you need help with most.
How Your Mentoring Session Works
Dedicated 1:1 Guidance
Your standard booking includes 2 hours of personalised mentoring with Jaf or the designated mentor, focused on your chosen project, techniques, or learning goals.
During this time, you'll receive direct guidance, demonstrations, feedback, and practical support to help you progress with your work.
Full-Day Studio Access
Your booking also includes access to the studio workspace for the day. After your dedicated two-hour mentoring session, you may continue working independently in the space where appropriate, allowing you to practise your skills and develop greater confidence.
Independent studio time is subject to studio access, equipment availability, safety requirements, and any necessary supervision.
This flexible approach gives you the opportunity to benefit from focused guidance while also building independence in your jewellery-making practice.
A Growing Teaching Team at jaf.elias
As jaf.elias expands, we're growing our teaching team and offering more opportunities for students to continue learning.
Depending on the session and availability, mentoring may be provided by Jaf or an appropriately trained instructor. Our instructors follow Jaf's teaching methods and approach while bringing their own experience and individual skills to the studio.
If you specifically wish to work with Jaf, please confirm availability before booking.
NDIS Participants
We welcome NDIS participants who would benefit from supported, creative studio time. Sessions can be adapted to individual learning needs, abilities, and goals.
Support workers are welcome where required.
Invoices can be provided for self-managed and plan-managed participants. Please confirm that the session and its intended outcomes are compatible with your individual plan and funding arrangements before booking.
Materials & Additional Costs
Your mentoring session focuses on personalised guidance and studio-based learning. Any additional materials or precious metals required for your project may incur extra charges.
If your project requires additional sterling silver or other precious metals beyond what is included in your booking, the price difference will be invoiced accordingly.
Please discuss your project and material requirements before your session so we can prepare appropriately.
## Ready to Keep Creating?
Your jewellery-making journey doesn't have to end when a workshop finishes. Mentoring gives you the space to ask questions, experiment, overcome challenges, and develop your skills at your own pace.
Bring your ideas, your unfinished projects, or the techniques you'd love to master. We'll work together to help you take the next step.

Hi, I’m Jaf, the artist behind jaf.elias Jewels, a Contemporary Jewellery designer and artist based in Naarm (Melbourne). My work reflects the stories, emotions, and experiences that shape me. To me, jewellery is more than an art form; it is a language through which I express the intangible, the personal, and the deeply felt. I create pieces that go beyond adornment, becoming vessels for memory, spirituality, and transformation.
As an empath, I find inspiration in whimsical, fantastical, and magical realms, drawing on the beauty of imperfection, nostalgia, and the fleeting moments that shape our lives. My work invites people into these worlds, offering a space to connect with something beyond the ordinary.
My creative process is intuitive and deeply personal. I combine intricate hand fabrication and complex soldering with the free-flowing nature of lost wax casting, allowing metals to take on organic, unpredictable forms. This balance of precision and spontaneity gives my work a raw, almost ancient quality, as though each piece has been unearthed from another time, carrying its own history and mystery. I am drawn to textures, layers, and the interplay between polished surfaces and rugged, untouched edges.
Rings hold a particularly special place in my heart, rooted in childhood memories and the sentimental weight they carry. Beyond rings, I create jewellery that tells a story: pieces that feel like heirlooms from an imagined past, infused with meaning, wonder, and emotion.
Through my work, I hope to offer more than jewellery. I want to create small, wearable worlds that invite curiosity, evoke emotion, and remind us that even in the most delicate details, there is magic.
jaf.elias Jewellery Workshops
As my jewellery practice continues to grow, so does the interest in my workshops. To welcome more students and offer greater flexibility with class dates and times, I am expanding my teaching practice into "jaf.elias Jewellery Workshops".
This expansion means that, alongside teaching myself, I will be welcoming a small team of instructors trained by me to lead selected classes. Each instructor is guided by my teaching methods, techniques, and approach to jewellery making, ensuring that the quality and learning experience remain consistent across our workshops.
"The heart of the experience remains the same." Our classes continue to be held in a private, personal setting, with individual attention and guidance throughout your creative journey. Your instructor will depend on availability, but you can feel confident knowing that each teacher has been trained under my guidance and follows the same standards I have established.
With more instructors joining the workshops, we can offer more class dates and greater opportunities for you to explore jewellery making, develop new skills, and bring your creative ideas to life, all while keeping the intimate, hands-on experience that makes our workshops special.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an aspiring jeweller looking to develop your skills, there will be more opportunities to learn, experiment, and discover the magic of making jewellery by hand.
I look forward to welcoming you into our little world of creativity and sharing the art of jewellery making with you.
