Hi, I'm Mell — the hands behind Clay in the Shed – Hunter Valley Pottery.
What started as a love for working with clay has grown into a cosy little studio in the Hunter Valley, where I get to share that passion with others. After years of teaching pottery workshops across Newcastle, the Central Coast and the Hunter, I finally built the studio I'd always dreamed of — a warm, rustic space where people can slow down, get creative, and enjoy making something with their own hands.
I believe pottery isn't about being perfect. It's about having fun, trying something new, and creating memories along the way. Whether you're joining a public workshop or celebrating a special occasion with friends, my goal is to make everyone feel welcome, relaxed, and proud of what they've made.
I can't wait to welcome you into the shed and get your hands dirty with clay.
