If you've ever wanted to know how to master your Thai favourites this cooking class in Brisbane is where you need to be.
During this three-and-a-half-hour hands-on cooking class, you'll be led by an experienced chef and will create a three-course feast that includes everyone's favourite Pad Thai Noodle.
The menu for the day will be dependent on the season, but you'll pick up essential tips like how to make your own curry paste from scratch, what goes into mastering Thai desserts and so much more.
Classes are interactive and hands-on, interactive cookery courses, designed for those with a passion for cooking but are perhaps lacking the necessary skills or confidence to absolutely shine! You should not be spending hours slaving away in the kitchen, cooking can be fun, creative, fulfilling and rewarding.
You also get to enjoy a feast of all the delicious food we prepare, so your lesson will be a delicious culinary adventure!
The Authentic Thai Menu:
Available Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian and Vegan
  • Tom Yum Soup from scratch... our personal favourite!
  • Pad Thai Noodle with prawn/veg/chicken.
  • Authentic Thai Beef Salad - plus learn how to balance the perfect Thai dipping sauce.
Dietaries - only the 'available dietaries' listed with the Menu are catered for. We cannot cater to other dietaries for this class.

And afterwards, enjoy a feast of the meals prepared. Demonstration aspects of classes ensure we cover enough content to make you into a fabulous chef.
Note: Groups of four or more guests will get their own private table.
Support Workers, Interpreters, Aids. Everyone must book and pay to enter. NDIS participants are highly recommended to bring Support Workers because of how the class runs (working in pairs etc). Please contact us to organise a discounted price for the Support Worker, Interpreter and Aids. Please be understanding, due to the layout of the class and safety & enjoyment of all guests, they must book in too.

Recent reviews of Authentic Thai Cooking Class: Part One

  • 5/5 from Kimberly McKenzie, attended Jul 2026: Did the Thai cooking class on Friday and it was brilliant. Went along solo and had such a great time, the chef broke everything down step by step, so it was easy to follow. Loved that we got to eat what we made at the end, proper feast, not just tasting spoons. Great vibe, small group, really great experience overall. Would 100% recommend if you’re after something fun and hands-on rather than just sitting through a demo.
  • 5/5 from Gavin Day, attended Mar 2026: Chef Tong was supportive, so funny, informative, and helped out with tips about even more than just the 3 recipes we cooked. Would absolutely recommend and would even love to redo the class!

  • 5/5 from Barry, attended Feb 2026: Teacher was very helpful and enjoyed the day
  • 5/5 from Jill Blacker, attended Aug 2025: Loved our Thai cooking class. Renay was a fabulous teacher explaining her demonstrations clearly..it was then easy to follow to create our own delicious food. Loved the new flavours of spices introduced to us...Will be easy for me to create this Thai food at home...thank you for a wonderful experience...
  • 5/5 from Romayne Boniface, attended Aug 2025: My husband and I received a gift voucher for this cooking class from our children. Booking the class for the date we wanted was easy. We had a wonderful time! Rachel, our teacher explained everything clearly and demonstrated the recipes. Our three dishes, the Tom Yum soup, Asian beef salad and Pad Thai tasted so good and there were even left overs to take home. We'd really like to do another Thai cooking class and learn to make different dishes (unfortunately my husband is gluten sensitive so can not eat dumplings which is the only other class offered) Also we would have bought some of the ingredients (chilli jam, tamarind etc) if they were sold onsite.
  • 5/5 from Caroline Jones, attended May 2025: Authentic Thai cooking class with Tong. We had an absolute blast! My ticket was a special birthday gift which was one of the best gifts ever! Tong was fabulous, very entertaining, knowledgeable and experienced. He was also very patient with us when we accidentally used the wrong ingredients for the wrong dish, but it still tasted delicious! Would highly recommend the Thai cooking class with Tong, great fun and we feasted on the food along the way. Also had heaps for leftovers!
  • 5/5 from Glenn Chant, attended May 2025: Awesome class, learnt a lot of valuable yet very simple ways in approaching Thai cooking. Chef Tong applies a friendly and informative style of running classes Will be back Cheers

  • 5/5 from Margo Frances Newman, attended Sep 2024: Really enjoyed cooking with Tong. He was very informative, venue was comfortable and we (our group of 3 celebrating a birthday)all felt we learnt new skills. The class ran very smoothly and was good value!
  • 5/5 from Jess Cadman, attended Aug 2024: This was Such an enjoyable class and delicious food, chef Tong was awesome, will definitely book in for another class
  • 5/5 from Angela Heise, attended Jun 2024: Be prepared for a new voice in your head. However, unlike those other critical voices, Chef Tong’s is positive and practical and will guide you every time you cook his recipes or apply some of the tips and tricks he teaches. I will never ‘cook’ rice noodles ever again! The team behind the scenes does a lot of the prep work but not too much to bypass important steps, so assembly still requires attention to detail. Which is half the fun. The Thai Cooking class at Vanilla Zulu was my second class with Tong and I will be back for more. If you want to learn some new skills and great recipes, meet interesting people, and have fun learning from a master, this is your perfect playground. Highly recommended.
  • 5/5 from Jenny, attended Jun 2024: Absolutely the best cooking class. The food was AMAZING, Tong was funny, knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend giving this class a go.

  • 5/5 from Catherine Heiner, attended Jun 2024: My sister gifted me the Thai cooking class as a Christmas present. It was so much fun, and I met a lovely group of people at my table. Cooking and then eating 3 dishes was great value for money, and I was able to take leftovers home as well. Chef Tong is such a brilliant teacher - very knowledgeable and patient with us all. He was so well organised and shared his secrets too. By instilling confidence in each one of us, I feel like a 'Tong Master' as a result! I can't wait to try another class sometime in the future.
  • 5/5 from Dr Rachna Singh, attended May 2024: We enjoyed the class, very organised, chef tong is amazing, normally there are three dishes to prepare but chef tong made 4th dish to teach the whole class. Worth every penny of it and I will return for more fun.
  • 5/5 from Andy Carl, attended May 2024: I booked this Class for my wife's birthday. We have done other cooking classes a few years ago elsewhere that were a little disappointing as we were only allowed us to make one component, At this class we got to make everything and then eat it. We were given little tips to make each meal that little bit better. Who would have thought to NOT follow the directions on the noodle packet. It was fun, easy and the food was very tasty. We will be booking another class here soon.
