Basket Weaving Workshop

Learn to basket weave with me!
This is a mindful making practice. It feels like a form of mediation and it allows you to slow down, sit with your thoughts and feel into your breathing whilst creating a little treasure for yourself!
Ok, I will be honest, once you feel comfortable with the weaving technique then the mindful making feeling comes into play.
If you love making things with your hands and looking for a different mindful practice then basket weaving could be for you. So, lets slow down and be present with what you are creating in your hands.

Basket weaving is the oldest craft and has been practiced by many different cultures.
In this workshop you will receive a weaving kit with everything you need to create your basket. Once you feel comfortable with the weaving techniques, which Belinda will demonstrate step by step, you should find yourself able to drop into a meditative state of flow. Or if you choose to, it offers a calm time to share stories and bond with one another from the group creating a very relax sharing circle. (Please know you are under no pressure to share anything).
By the end of class, you will be on your way to have a finished (or nearly finished) gorgeous raffia basket and the skills to make many more. You'll also feel refreshed and relaxed by the end of it!
All materials provided.

• All materials to make a basket (Raffia, needle, choice of wool and decorative bits).
• Take home your basket.
