Learning to sew opens up a world of creative possibilities, and it all starts with getting comfortable behind a sewing machine. In this beginner-friendly class in Collingwood, you’ll gain the essential skills to start sewing with confidence.
Never tried sewing before but always wondered how to? Just need a refresher? This session is perfect for you! You'll receive expert guidance every step of the way in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Over four hours, we’ll cover the foundations of machine sewing step by step:
  • How to thread your machine, fill bobbins, adjust settings, control tension, and switch between presser feet.
  • You’ll also learn fabric and needle basics, what seam allowances are, how to finish edges, and install a zipper, with plenty of time to practice your new skills.
Once you're comfortable, you’ll sew your own unique pouch with lining, zipper, and professionally finished edges; a perfect project for storing writing tools, makeup, crochet hooks, or paintbrushes. The options are endless, really – who doesn’t love a wee pouch?
This workshop is all about practical skills in a relaxed, supportive space, with plenty of time to ask questions and build confidence.
Please note: This class is a small boutique session in Jeni's studio onsite; spots are strictly limited.
