What you'll do
Have you ever wanted to learn woodworking? Join William Brain at the Useful Box Studios in Coburg and make DIY wood projects with confidence!
The workshop will cover all you need to know to start you on your way to mastering all things timber! From chiseling, to hand sawing and planing.
You will be making a sharpening stone box which you’ll take with you after the course, and you'll be equipped to sharpen all of your own tools yourself. It’s the perfect project to start you on your woodworking journey.
The cost of the course also includes a sharpening stone to take with you at the end!
The class will cover:
- Sawing, how to, all the basics
- Chiselling, how to sharpen your own chisel super sharp!
- Planing, also sharpening!
- Measuring, squaring off, marking off, sanding, oiling and finishing.
This class has a very limited capacity so that you will all receive proper attention and get the most out of the experience. Perfect for beginners, the course is designed for those with little to no woodworking experience and working with tools.
Note: The course starts on the 22nd of March. Continuing the 29th of March and concluding on the 5th of April.

Im a Carpenter, shopfitter and Furniture Maker based in Coburg. I make as much furniture as I can using reclaimed timber from houses condemned for demolishment.
With my teaching I aim to share my passion for timber and woodworking. I specialise in teaching older hand woodworking techniques without the use of power tools
