In our upcoming wheel throwing class, you will immerse yourself in the wonderful world of pottery, learning how to create beautiful and functional pieces from scratch. Throughout the workshop, you'll discover how to work with clay, shape it on the wheel, and watch as your creations come to life.
As you walk into the studio, you will be greeted by the calming atmosphere and surrounded by like-minded individuals ready to embark on this creative journey with you. Working with your hands and connecting with the earthy materials will leave you feeling centred and fulfilled – a fantastic break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
You're making one large pot from start to finish.
Throughout the session, you'll learn how to:
  • Throw a strong foundation for larger forms
  • Add coils to build height instead of muscle
  • Create bigger, taller pots without centring huge amounts of clay
  • Shape, compress, and strengthen your walls
  • Avoid common mistakes that lead to collapse
  • Build confidence creating larger, more ambitious work
By the end of the day, you'll walk away with a completely new technique you'll use again and again.
This workshop is 18+.
You'll need to be confident centring clay independently; best attend the beginner wheel throwing class first, same week is fine.
One finished vessel is included for bisque firing.
We recommend bringing a water bottle and some brain food to keep you fuelled throughout the workshop.
Pottery has a mind of its own. Tiny quirks, warping, or kiln cracks can occasionally happen—and honestly, that's part of the magic. Unfortunately, we can't offer refunds or studio credits for kiln surprises.
Class sizes are intentionally small to allow plenty of one-on-one guidance.

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colors, while keeping in mind first-time painting experiences. Those with a little more practice will create some amazing pieces.
