I was worried I wouldn't find a cover I liked but there were so many options. I feel like I could definitely make another book from everything I learnt and Nicole had a booklet full of instructions and tips and tricks. Im inspired to make another, thanks Nicole.

Not only did I leave with my very own journal (what a sense of accomplishment!) but also with the passion and confidence to create my own at home - although I would happily take this class again. We got to make our own books, choose our front covers, personalise the cover pages, and even add a bookmark and little extra details to make it our own. Nicole was so patient, attentive and knowledgeable, and explained everything so clearly. I honestly couldn’t recommend this workshop enough!! If you’re looking to try something new or pick up a new hobby.....let this be your sign to book it. You’ll leave feeling so proud of what you’ve made and with a big smile on your face. Nicole was thorough and patient in explaining every step of the process, which made everything easy to follow even as a complete beginner. The workshop was also so well organised: all the tools and materials were laid out and ready to use, so the whole experience felt relaxed and seamless. A particular highlight was the huge selection of gorgeous decorative papers to choose from! Nicole has clearly put a lot of thought and care into both the workshop itself and all the materials provided, and I came away with a book I absolutely love and a much better understanding of the bookbinding process. Would definitely recommend!

All the needed tools and materials were included, and it was a warm and inclusive class that helped me create my first hard cover book.

The class moved at a really good pace and Nicole was incredibly patient, caring, and supportive throughout. It felt special and we all loved the experience! The set up was wonderful and the tools and equipment not only top rate but their design and inclusion made the whole experience much easier, especially for those of us that were a little less than crafty!... Nicole clearly understands not only her bookmaking craft but how to teach and guide people of all abilities so that they experience the thrill of making the book themselves! We love our books and will cherish the experience of doing this activitie as friends and family... Thanks Nicole!!

Nicole is patient, clear and thorough with all her instructions. Nothing was a bother to her, and any hiccups along the way, she worked her magic and fixed. Venue was good, lots of tools, and a big selection of materials. I would highly recommend this fun and rewarding class.
• 5/5 from Beth McKinna, attended Oct 2025: As someone who was constantly scolded by her Art and Textiles teacher for being “artistically challenged” (and who could somehow break anything she touched), I walked into Nicole’s bookbinding workshop fully expecting chaos. And, look—chaos did happen. At one point I managed to catch my thread in my own hair. But Nicole? Impeccably patient. She floated around the room like a craft fairy godmother, rescuing those of us who got ourselves into… situations. She repeated instructions an exorbitant number of times, always with the same endlessly positive tone. The class was full of laughs, and her warm, endearing personality immediately made everyone feel comfortable—and crucially, not embarrassed about making mistakes. (Lucky for me and my hair-thread incident.) I actually left feeling like I could do ART. To top it all off, when the class finished, Nicole even stayed back to fix my book because I somehow cut my finger and ruined my own cover. Would 10/10 recommend this workshop for the artistically challenged, the clumsy, the self-declared craft-cursed, and anyone who was consistently yelled at by their high school Art/Textiles teacher.

The space was well laid out and we had all our supplies and even little trolleys to help the organisationally-challenged (not me) keep track of everything. The workshop started promptly, only held back by the last people who showed up a couple of minutes late (not me). When we started, the sheer amount of tools, supplies, and options presented could intimidate people who are not used to artsy endeavours, let alone those who struggle to colour inside the lines (not me). However, the way Nicole structured the workshop made it very easy to focus on one step at a time. She managed the room efficiently, helping those who finished quickly proceed to the next step while allowing plenty of time for more...meticulous creators to catch up (not me). She gave clear instructions for each step and demonstrated kindness and patience when she inevitably had to repeat it to overly-enthusiastic bookbinders who were distracted by the beautiful and shiny implements around them (not me). She also provided some delicious snacks and tea. By the end of the session, we each had a beautiful book with a cover we chose, paper styles that worked for our use, and even custom bookmarks integrated right into the spine. Nicole was generous with her time and none of us ever felt rushed, even when some people kept second and third guessing their choice of endpapers (not me). We also got access to a website with instructions for continuing to make your own books at home with basic supplies you would already have. We left having thoroughly enjoyed the class and now own notebooks so beautiful that some weaker-willed individuals would be terrified of wrecking them by putting their thoughts on the paper inside (not me).

Everything you need to make a really nice hardbound book in 3hrs. Our teacher brought a beautiful selection of papers too. The session went at a good pace with clear instructions as we went along and support when I got stuck. Loads of laughs along the way. I walked out with something I was proud of and also purchased some tools to make my own books at home with the printed instructions provided. Loved loved loved this! Thanks so much.

From start to finish, Nicole created a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment, and gave timely, thoughtful attention to each and every participant. One of the standout features of the class was the amazing range of paper choices. Being able to choose materials that reflected our own tastes made the creative process even more personal and enjoyable. I left with a beautiful handmade book, a sense of accomplishment, some new skills and a full heart. If you're thinking about taking a book binding class, I can't recommend Nicole’s enough. It’s a fun and inspiring experience from beginning to end.

The class was fantastic to say the least, beautiful papers were spread out for us to choose from, templates designed by Nicole herself (and available to buy!) Everything was carefully thought out for an easy to follow class. I left feeling amazed at the book I was able to produce and feeling very confident to make more books for myself and as gifts. The class was also in a great location - literally right at a tram stop! Thank you for a delightful Easter Sunday. Oh.. and hot cross buns and choccies were offered too!! Bonus!!

Nicole’s knowledge of book binding is outstanding and her patience with people learning the skills is excellent. The group of people were great to be with, Ruth’s cake being another highlight. Nicole’s knowledge of the craft of book binding was excellent and she was so patient with everyone and was ready to help you when wasn’t sure if you were doing it correctly. I highly recommend this class to any age. I was very impressed with my result.
