This class was so much fun. Perfect for beginners and very straightforward. We learned enough that we feel confident (and excited!) to make more Bonsai at home, and we also feel that we have the knowledge to care for the plant going forward. We are looking forward to repotting, trimming and shaping next year and seeing how our vision comes to life!

A beautiful venue and well-paced class. It was great to learn about the history of bonsai, why we trim of certain stems, leaves and roots as well as plant care. Super exciting that the bonsai I made can last more than a lifetime!

The class was lots of fun - held in a lovely venue and ran for just long enough to get a confident start with a new bonsai tree. Ben our teacher provided clear information and support whenever it was needed along the way.

The class was super slow. 1.5 hours was actually 2.5 hours. Lots of waiting for other people to catch up. Teacher told us to vision what we wanted our bonsai to look like, but people had no idea what that meant. Some info graphics, or inspo photos of the different growth patterns would be great. And if the teacher also made a bonsai at the same time to show people how to do it. There was too many variety’s of bonsai so people were confused. There were two teachers contradicting each others instructions, leaving everyone confused. The room wasn’t set with enough materials leaving everyone asking for more wire, meshing ect to make their bonsai.

What a lovely venue surrounded by beautiful plants for the bonsai workshop. Great choice of trees and pots to do our bonsai. The teacher was really, really kind, knowledgeable, caring, all the time around, and helping us all with his advice, which I appreciated it a lot. Bonsai is a personal experience but having a knowledgeable and helpful teacher made the whole experience much better.
Thank you, can't wait to do another bonsai tree.

The teacher was fabulous, warm and welcoming. He made learning so simple and easy.
The venue was the best bring surrounded by the beautiful plants.
I love my pot and juniper.
The glass was good value for money.
It was nice bouncing off ideas with other participants and the teacher.

Great introductory session to growing bonsai. The instructor was knowledgeable and kept things moving along at a good pace. Would be handy if they could provide a hand out as reference material on how to look after your bonsai at home so you don’t have to rely solely on your memory.

Did this workshop as a date and it was really fun! They explained in-depth how to care for a bonsai, making them, etc., and for a beginner like us it was really helpful. Great start to a new hobby. They had a nice pot selection and we had options between pine and maple tree.

This was such a great class! The teacher Theo was very knowledgeable and approachable and explained the concepts and process very well. The venue was perfect for this class, very serene and relaxed. I have had bonsais for several years but have never done any classes or courses on how to care for them properly, and this class gave me invaluable knowledge and skills that I can use to care for my plants. I loved that we were able to select a plant and take it home at the end of the class too!

Teacher had a nice flow of teaching surrounded by plants giving a sense of nature indoor while learning about bonzai we had opportunity to all ask other plant questions.

Theo was absolutely lovely and informative. Unfortunately the class started about half an hour late and there wasn’t enough scissors for us to have our own pair, and the flowers, twine and finishing ribbon ran out before the end of the class. There were toilets and water on site however no housekeeping per se so had to ask. There was some really nice wooden wreath centre parts but most of us had ones from Kmart.
Overall a fun class with a beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff but a few things that could really make it flawless.

The teacher was approachable and conducted the class really well. There were lots of florals and plant material to choose from, however it was a very large class and some of the florals I was using ran out and I wasn't able to do as much as I would have liked. I would recommend this class for friends and family, and would be fun to do with a group of people.

We really enjoyed this class, Theo was a great teacher, really helpful and approachable. The space is beautiful and smells amazing from the minute you walk in, the only feedback we have is the lack of Christmas materials. This was a Christmas Wreath workshop and there was no Christmas materials or colours. For example the ribbons, they could be red, green, gold instead of just white. There was no red flowers or even some pine cones. It just felt a bit more like a normal wreath making rather than Christmas. It was still a lovely workshop.

It was so fun & I had no idea I’d get so into the creative process. I went with my cousin & it was lovely to spend the time together seeing our beautiful wreath creations come to life! A beautiful selection of natives were on offer to use for the wreaths, surrounded by plants & flowers. Awesome to come home with a wreath to use & look at year after year.
Our instructor was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable & interested in what each of us were making.

This class was a great way to learn the basics of creating a bonsai.
The teacher was a lovely, calm presence - clearly very knowledgeable, experienced and well placed to guide students. Creating and taking care of a bonsai is a metaphor for creating and taking care of your own life, and if you look at it from that perspective, the class is both philosophical, thought provoking and very practical.
Class is not too long, relaxed, a great little add in to your weekend without taking it over! Very satisfying to take home a piece that although small, is pleasing to the eye, and very obviously a bonsai. Take this class if you love learning, plants and creating :)

I feel like there should be a discounted follow up class available as our bonsais grow and maybe a little sheet just summarising some bonsai care pointers could be great. at a beautiful lil shop just after the sun had gone down my support worker and i discovered a wonderful evening with a very welcoming and knowledgeable teacher!
even better we both walked away with two really beautiful bonsai each and a whole lot of interest in perusing the tradition further.
if you like open, beautifully green spaces, dripping with healthy plants and buzzing with gentle conversation, this is the class for you.
it's not strict and intense like an old school, traditional bonsai school this is where you go to have fun, learn new things, and find out how incredibly creative you and your fellow students an be!
recommend for individuals and groups definitely a great idea to take mum to for mothers day!

I had been looking around to do a bonsai plant class for quite some time.
This one I found at Botannicah was a quality experience. Beginner friendly. It is conveniently located to public transport and shops. Their spacious venue setting was very calming and a rejuvenating green escape. Surrounded by many beautiful indoor plants we were guided by a very patient teacher, who knew his craft well and passed on some valuable tips on how to create your bonsai and ongoing care tips. I took home these 2 bonsai plants, I made during the class that I can keep either indoors or outdoors. All materials and refreshments were provided. I would highly recommend this unique plant class.

My friend and I both absolutely loved our time and the wreath making class. It was a beautiful venue and a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. There was help if needed and plenty of pieces/options to put together to create our piece. Honestly, I loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat
