What you'll do
Protea flowers have large heads made of small florets packed on a woody receptacle; each floret is reddish or pinkish in colour.In this workshop, you will learn how to mix the colours and different watercolour techniques like wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry. By using different shades and values we make the flower head look round and three-dimensional. In nature we don’t have only one green colour for the leaves. By adding different colours to our green palette we will achieve more interesting results.Artistic Facilitator: Ferie SadeghiFerie started her career as an interior architect and later as a graphic designer. Her background as a designer has given her strength in drawing, composition, perspective, and colour coordination. She loves the softness and the moodiness of watercolour; lately, she is also exploring other mediums like acrylic paint and alcohol inks.She exhibits her artworks regularly throughout the year. Recent awards are:
- a Highly Commended in the 2022 WSQ Annual Exhibition
- a First Prize in the 2020 The Australian Watercolour Muster
- a Third Prize in the 2019 EKKA exhibition
- a First Prize in the 2024 Brookfield Art Show
