What you'll do
Making soy candles is such a relaxing and carefree process that everyone should experience for themselves. Join Dragonfly Creative Workshops on the Sunshine Coast and enjoy a morning, afternoon or day making these beautiful creations.During the class, enjoy tea, coffee and a lovely morning or afternoon tea. We will supply everything you need from glassware to fragrance and colour. All products used are 100 per cent natural and of the highest quality.What you'll learn:
- Tool-kit and accessories guidelines including wick selection for different types of containers and jars.
- Step-by-step procedure for making handmade soy candles (this is a completely hands-on workshop).
- Tips, tricks and creative enhancements.
- Creating colourful candles using dyes.
- Fragrance oils versus essential oils.
- Learn how to use silicone moulds to make heart, flower or shape melts.
What you'll get
You will take home all the candles you make on the day including:- Six to ten large candle melts using candy moulds.
- Four tealight candles.
- One small candle.
Knowledge required
This hands-on workshop is ideal for beginners.
What to bring
All materials, tutorial and morning or afternoon tea provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and enclosed footwear.

Only issue was that the lesson was only two hours long not the three hours as advertised. We had time to make another type in candle.

The venue would have been better if the Community Centre had of left a key for our teacher but she did a great job delivering the class outside under gazebos with no access to facilities and it rained. But the attendee's all made the best of the situation and stayed positive. Mel provided handouts at the end of the class for us to take which are very informative. Mel also had an assistant who was helpful and friendly. A good time was had by the party of 4 ladies that I organised the class for. One of my guests was my daughter and it was her birthday gift which she thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to Mel and her helper.
